💛 International Friendship Day at Curro Waterfall Preschool 💛

Today, we celebrated International Friendship Day, a special occasion that reminds us of the value of kindness, inclusion, and meaningful connections.

Friendships play an important role in a child's development, helping them build confidence, learn empathy, develop social skills, and create a sense of belonging. Through shared laughter, teamwork, and everyday moments of play, our little learners are discovering what it means to be a good friend.

🏗️ Little Architects at Work! 🏗️

This week, our Group 4 children have been exploring the exciting theme of Little Architects. Through the use of Lego blocks, paint, cutting, gluing, and plenty of imagination, they have been creating beautiful designs and structures inspired by their own creativity.

These engaging, hands-on activities do so much more than encourage creativity. The children are developing important fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, problem-solving abilities, spatial awareness, and critical thinking skills. They are also learning to plan, design, persevere, and express their ideas with confidence.

We are so proud of our little builders and the wonderful creations they have produced this week. Their enthusiasm, creativity, and willingness to explore new ideas have truly been a joy to see! 🌟🏗️✨

🏡 Little Architects with Big Imaginations! 🎨

Today our Group 3 children had a wonderful time painting their dream houses as part of our Little Architects theme. With paintbrushes in hand and imaginations running wild, each child created a unique home filled with colour, creativity and personality.

Activities like these encourage creative expression, strengthen fine motor skills and inspire children to think about the world around them in fun and meaningful ways. We loved seeing each child's ideas come to life on paper! ✨

📚 Finding Thabo: Exploring Thabo's Bedroom!

Today our Group 4 children enjoyed another exciting Finding Thabo adventure! Using the engaging flipbook, the children explored the page where Thabo is in his bedroom, carefully looking for him among all the familiar objects.

This interactive activity encouraged the children to develop their observation, listening and language skills while having fun. It was wonderful to see their curiosity and excitement as they searched for Thabo and eagerly shared what they discovered along the way. 💙✨

They Found Thabo! 👀🌟

The excitement continues with our Finding Thabo adventure! Today, our preschoolers searched high and low before discovering Thabo enjoying some time on the jungle gym. There were plenty of smiles and cheers as the children proudly found him, making it another memorable moment in their day of fun and learning.

Little Architects at Work! 🧱🎨

Our Group 2 children embraced this week's Little Architects theme with wonderful creativity! Using LEGO® blocks and paint, they designed their own building plans, exploring shapes, patterns and construction through hands-on play. It was a fantastic way to encourage imagination, problem-solving and early design skills while having lots of fun!

The Adventure Begins... Find Thabo! 👀💚

Today marked the exciting launch of our Finding Thabo programme - a proudly South African educational programme designed to support children's learning and development across all learning areas through fun, play-based experiences.

The children eagerly searched around the preschool to discover where Thabo was hiding, and there was great excitement when he was finally found!

The adventure is only just beginning. Thabo will be hiding in a different place around the school each day this week. We cannot wait to see who will be the next to find him. Keep your eyes open... Thabo could be anywhere! 💚✨

💙 Making a Difference Starts with Us.

Our first whole-school assembly of Term 3 was a meaningful celebration of Mandela Day, reminding us that making a difference isn't something we do on just one day of the year; it should be a way of life.

Our learners inspired us with heartfelt messages about kindness and compassion. Jordan from the Intermediate Phase encouraged everyone to choose kindness every day, while a moving poem and a powerful Mandela Day Pledge reminded us that even the smallest acts of service can have a lasting impact.

To round off the assembly, Arianna captivated us with a beautiful ballet performance, showcasing the incredible talent within our Curro Waterfall community.

As we begin Term 3, we are inspired to lead with kindness, serve with purpose, and continue making a positive difference; one day at a time.
