🎉 Big News for Midrand Montessori! 🎉

As we wrap up an incredible 2024, we have some thrilling news to share with our Midrand Montessori family! This year marks our 18th birthday– a milestone full of growth, challenges, and unforgettable memories. We are deeply grateful to each student, parent, and community member who has been a part of our journey.

But that's not all… 2025 is about to get even more exciting! After 8 years of hard work, vision, and dedication, our founder and principal is overjoyed to announce that we have successfully acquired the property right behind our current Carlswald property! This expansion will allow us to bring our vision to life and create even more opportunities for our students. 🎒

Our high school will soon have a beautiful new home directly behind our toddlers, preschool, and primary sections, making it easier than ever for our Montessori family to grow together. 🏫✨

Stay tuned for details about our Open Day in January – we can't wait to show you around and celebrate this new chapter with you all! Here's to an amazing future ahead for Midrand Montessori! 🌟

Midrand Montessori High - Community Outreach

Midrand Montessori High is deeply committed to contributing to our community, whether it involves helping the elderly, supporting young children, or caring for animals. Each year, our high school students participate in an Entrepreneurship Day, and they choose to donate their earnings beyond expenses to a local outreach project. This year, they supported the SPCA in Midrand, a sanctuary for animals in distress within the greater Midrand area.

When Lyra Belle de Jong, a seventh-grade student, celebrated her 13th birthday, she asked her friends and family to give her money, which she donated to the SPCA.

The SPCA, a longstanding non-profit organisation in Midrand, relies on the generosity of individuals and businesses to continue their work in rescuing, housing, and treatment of animals.

We urge all parents and businesses to back this commendable organisation. The SPCA is currently in need of Stormy Blankets, available at any PEP store, as well as food and monetary contributions. Continuing with Travis Shiers' accomplishments in enduro endurance motorcycle racing:

Travis Shiers showcased exceptional resilience and skill during the EWXC enduro race season, mastering both the challenging terrains and the unexpected hurdles that came his way. Throughout the series, Shiers tackled an array of demanding courses, faced early mornings, endured long rides under tough weather conditions, and met strong competition head-on.

Entering the final race with a narrow two-point lead over his closest rival, the tension was palpable. Travis trained intensively and focused mentally to tackle this crucial race, ultimately securing a stellar outcome.

Starting the race in second place, Travis's unwavering determination propelled him to the lead during the second lap, a position he maintained until the end, earning him the title of EWXC champion.

We applaud Travis for his extraordinary commitment, accomplishments, and efforts. We eagerly anticipate his future endeavors in the racing world.

Today marks the beginning of our Harvest Hot Plate sale, a culmination of hard work and dedication from our high school students enrolled in the Agriculture and Food & Nutrition program. Their commitment to cultivating and nurturing their own crops fills us with immense pride. Crafting a menu from their harvest, they served both parents and students alike. All proceeds from today's sale will go towards enhancing our greenhouse and preparing for our winter garden. Our ultimate goal is to establish a soup kitchen and support other community outreach programs with surplus funds. We extend our deepest gratitude to our exceptional students, staff, and parents for their remarkable dedication to this project and their support in our outreach efforts.

Midrand Montessori High firmly believes that learning extends far beyond the confines of a classroom. We advocate for academic enrichment through exploration and outings, recognising the importance of a holistic educational experience.

This term, our students embarked on a captivating day trip to Lory Park Zoo in Midrand, where they were treated to a comprehensive tour and educational presentations on the diverse array of fascinating animals, the various phylum's, and classifications. Witnessing the depth of passion and knowledge displayed by our students regarding these creatures was truly remarkable.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Lory Park Zoo for their exceptional presentations and warm hospitality.

Travis Shiers, the 2024 student leader of Midrand Montessori High, is indeed a remarkable individual with a passion for endurance motorcycle riding. His participation and success in the Enduro World Races, specifically the EWXC Mhara 2024 and EWXC Heidelberg 2024, showcase his exceptional talent and determination in this demanding sport.

Achieving podium finishes in both of these prestigious races speaks volumes about Travis's skill and dedication. Endurance motorcycle racing requires not only physical stamina but also mental fortitude and strategic planning, making his accomplishments even more impressive.

As a student leader, Travis likely demonstrates qualities such as leadership, responsibility, and perseverance, which are essential not only in sports but also in academics and personal development. His achievements serve as an inspiration to his peers and a testament to the supportive environment fostered at Midrand Montessori High.
