I'm a 4th grade teacher, but instead of sending the boring old "Welcome to Class" letter, I figured I'd spice it up and send my new 4th graders a song they could jam to. Of course, I'll go old school and write a letter, but I hope this song helps the parents and kids get a better idea of the kind of teacher I'm going to be!

This week, I lost one of my students to su***de - a 14-year old, beautiful girl named Klara. I wish I had sung my song to her earlier.

Today I had the great opportunity to teach some basic English to three refugee girls from the Congo. They loved the storyline approach I used and made such progress in just a day. When I asked them what they wanted to learn next, they said: "Everything!" Such eager students. I wish teaching would always be this easy! ;) ;) ;)

Abandoned as a child
As a child, Pastor Bill experienced the pain and hopelessness of abandonment. One day, as he walked down a street with his mother, they stopped to sit for a while. She instructed him to sit there and wait for her to return. He sat and waited for three days straight. She never returned. A Christian gentleman who had seen Bill stranded and alone stopped and picked him up. It was here that Bill’s relationship with God began.

Mission to help hurting children
Out of the pain, impoverishment and isolation of his own abandonment, Bill developed a heart of compassion for suffering children everywhere. From the ghettos of America to the garbage dumps of Manila, Bill has sought to rescue hurting children.

I am currently working on three new exciting storylines (titled "Life in the Roman Empire", "Slavery in the USA - a Long Road to Liberty", and "Inclusion - a Hotel for the Deaf").
