Fraility syndrome
What is it, and why does it mater to me or my loved ones?
According to the MUSC health, fraility syndrome is defined as age-related deficit in the normal function, and involving several body systems. This means loss of mucle tone, loss of stamina, loss of endurance, sometimes loss of weight and general fitness. This puts the elderly at risk for falling, immobility, delirium, incontinence and medication side effects.
As per Hopkins medicine one of the symptoms loss of mucle mass can be reduced by strenght training and light walking most days of the week.
Biomedcentral identified physically activity as the most used intervention across studies that reverse frailty.
