Dear Waldorf Community

Greek Olympics for Grade 6. held on Friday the 13th and Saturday the 14 February 2026.

What a joy it was to see children from Zenzeleni, Hermanus, McGregor Fountain, Gaia, Imhoff, Starseed, Call of the Wild, Stellenbosch, Constantia, and Michael Oak gather on Friday, eyes sparkling with anticipation. Clad in flowing chitons and sturdy chaftas, they moved as one bright, hopeful chorus, ready to honor the spirit of the ancient Greek Olympics.

The children were divided into their respective cities, Athens, Corinth, Delphi, Sparta, and Olympia.
The games began with a wonderful competitive spirit. Cheer rose from every corner as they ran, jumped, and threw, while the Olympic flame burned brightly, symbolizing unity and courage.

After supper, we shared verses and songs from each class and school, a true highlight of the weekend. Some children tended the fire through the night, keeping the flame alive.

Saturday morning started with a refreshing run, preparing them for wrestling events ,stork, beam, knee, and arm wrestling where they tossed, toiled, and ultimately celebrated our gold medallists.

We also awarded 20 gold medals for outstanding sportsmanship, those who upheld the Gre­cian motto, best all‑rounders, and the most courageous participants.

Your children’s enthusiasm, teamwork, and respect made this celebration unforgettable. Thank you for supporting this living lesson in history, community, and heart.

A Season of Wonder & Adventure!

As the rhythms of learning weave through our days, we’ve been blessed to step into the living world beyond the classroom! In the spirit of curiosity and connection, each age has journeyed outward, bringing stories and wonder back to share.

Kindergarten
With gentle hearts, they visited the _Donkey Sanctuary_ just outside McGregor. Laughter flowed as they played, discovered, and befriended those whimsical, stubborn donkeys—an unforgettable morning of joy!

Classes 1, 2, 3
In Robertson, _Birds Paradise_ welcomed them into a realm of feathers, scales, and curious monkeys! Eyes wide, they returned with tales of creatures great and small.

Classes 4, 5, 6, and 7

For three magical days at SOS Camp, Villiersdorp School in the Wild adventure was the heartbeat!
Under starlit skies, they climbed rocks, braved night walks, cooked bread on crackling fires, fed animals, swam, canoed… and became a community of explorers. Stories still ripple with excitement.

These outings nourish imagination, courage, and wonder.
