🎻🎶 Little ears. Curious minds. A whole world of music waiting to be discovered.
There is something rather special about watching a little one hear an instrument for the very first time.
A violin. 🎻
A flute. 🪈
A trumpet. 🎺
A cello. 🎻
Suddenly, music isn't just something they hear — it is something they can see, touch, explore and wonder about.
Our preschoolers were recently privileged to welcome members of our Music Department, who introduced them to instruments of the orchestra as part of our music enrichment and appreciation programme.
For little learners, these experiences are about so much more than learning the names of instruments. They are opportunities to listen carefully, notice different sounds, ask questions and discover something completely new.
And perhaps, somewhere amongst all the excitement, a tiny spark is lit. ✨
A little one who has always loved making music might discover an instrument they adore. Another might simply leave with a new favourite sound.
We don't always know where these little moments will lead — and that's the beauty of childhood. ❤️
For now, we simply give them opportunities to listen, explore, play and wonder.
Because sometimes, a lifelong love of music begins with a little pair of eyes lighting up at the sound of an instrument. 🎶🤎
