Happy World Teachers' Day to the teachers who never get to stand at the front of a room. 🍎

Our Clamber Club facilitators are on the floor, in the tunnel and holding the other end of the parachute.

They're crawling alongside a brand new walker, singing the song for the fifteenth time and cheering as loudly for a wobbly balance beam crossing as for a gold medal.

For so many toddlers, these are the very first teachers they'll ever have, and the first grown-ups outside the family who make them feel brave, capable and seen.

To every facilitator who gets down to their level, every single class: thank you. 💛

Your baby copying your facial expressions isn't cute coincidence. It's how empathy starts.

Stick your tongue out and your baby sticks theirs out too. Smile and they smile back.

It looks like a game, but it's actually one of the earliest building blocks of empathy at work.

Babies are born with the ability to mirror what they see, and every one of those tiny imitations is helping wire their brain to eventually understand and share the feelings of others. It's not just adorable.

It's the very beginning of connection.

Every culture has a lullaby. Every lullaby is a baby's first lesson in rhythm and language.

Long before a baby understands a single word, they're already absorbing rhythm, tone and melody, the very building blocks of language, through the lullabies sung to them.

Every culture in South Africa carries its own, passed down in different languages, different rhythms, different voices, but all doing the same quiet work: soothing, bonding and teaching.

This Heritage Day, we're celebrating that shared thread. However it's sung, a lullaby is still a baby's very first lesson in language and love.

Spring break with a toddler: more energy, less structure and a LOT of opinions about snacks.

No routine, no naps on schedule and somehow twice the energy to burn, spring holidays with a toddler are a special kind of chaos.

The good news? A little outdoor movement goes a long way.

Try a backyard obstacle course with cushions and chairs, chalk hopscotch on the driveway, or just a good old-fashioned "run to the tree and back" race.

Tired toddler, happier parent, everybody wins.

The holidays mean a break from routine for big kids. For babies, routine is still the whole world.

While older siblings are sleeping in and running wild all day, your baby's little world still runs on the same predictable rhythm, feeds, naps and familiar faces at familiar times.

It doesn't mean the holidays have to be rigid, just steady where it counts.

Try to keep nap times roughly consistent, use familiar routines (like the same song before sleep) as anchors even when the day looks different and if a nanny or caregiver is helping out, keep them in the loop on any small shifts so baby's rhythm stays as predictable as possible.
