35 years ago, they imagined this.

The same week that Penryn South Africa and Penreach celebrated 35 years, 15,000 learners walked through our gates.

It is difficult to imagine a more powerful reflection of what our founders had in mind when they believed that educational excellence should be for one and for all.

They envisioned more than a school. They envisioned a campus where learning extends beyond the classroom, where opportunities are created, and where the wider community belongs.

Last Friday, as we gathered for Founder’s Day, our CEO, Susanna Behrendt, reflected on the journey the Penryn and Penreach family has walked together — a journey whose impact now reaches far beyond the school grounds, into classrooms and communities across Mpumalanga.

That vision was alive on campus throughout the week.

As Penryn marked three and a half decades of purpose, learners from partner and non-partner schools across the province came together for the Penreach STEAM Festival — exploring science, technology, engineering, art, mathematics and innovation.

15,000 learners. One campus. One founding belief.

What began 35 years ago as a vision for one school has grown into an opportunity for thousands of young people — and a belief that educational excellence is something we all have a role in making possible.
