If there’s one thing I will forever be grateful for, it is the courage and grace to build a brand that can confidently step onto global platforms and contribute meaningfully. I have learned that when preparation meets opportunity, confidence follows. As I stood before delegates and professionals from different countries - many with highly recognized portfolios and titles, I just knew I belong in this space.

From the moment I arrived in China, people knew that South Africa was in the room. Not because of a title, but because I chose to represent my country with excellence, professionalism, wisdom, and authenticity. The way I do, speak, engage, walk, and lead reflects years of learning, preparation, and practice. This presentation on South Africa-China collaboration was more than a speaking engagement; it was a reminder of the journey God has taken me on.

I am a speaker, a moderator, a writer, a teacher, and a leader. Every platform is an opportunity to build Brand Samkelisiwe, Brand Sibayeni, and Brand South Africa. I am grateful for the direction God is leading me and I pray for the wisdom, discipline, and humility to steward every opportunity well and never drop the ball.
The journey continues. The vision grows. The impact expands.
🇿🇦 Proud South African.
🇨🇳 Building global partnerships.
Growing people, businesses, and possibilities.

Representing South Africa at a seminar in China 🇨🇳🇿🇦
One thing international travel continues to teach me is that every time I leave home, I am no longer just Samkelisiwe… I become South Africa. The way I speak, learn, engage, and contribute becomes a reflection of my country and continent.

This session on wetlands and environmental sustainability pushed me to reconnect deeply with my Environmental Science background. For years my focus has been captured by food science, climate-smart agriculture, hydroponics, and agricultural innovation but this discussion reminded me how connected everything truly is: water, wetlands, food systems, climate resilience, economic and community development.

Standing in a room with delegates from different Kenya 🇰🇪, Ethiopia 🇪🇹, Romania 🇷🇴, Thailand 🇹🇭, China 🇨🇳, and more sharing ideas on conservation and sustainable development, was both humbling and inspiring.

From South Africa to China, the conversation is clear: Protecting wetlands is protecting life, biodiversity, food security, and future generations.
Proudly representing South Africa 🇿🇦 on a global platform.
Learning. Sharing. Growing.

The South Africa 🇿🇦 Zambia Trade & Investment Forum hosted at the Department of International Relations and Cooperation in partnership with the Zambia High Commission in Pretoria 🇿🇲🇿🇦
Under the powerful theme:
“From Commitment to Capital: Catalysing South African Investment for Zambia’s Industrial Renaissance”, the forum created a meaningful platform for dialogue, collaboration, and unlocking cross-border opportunities.
Key sectors highlighted included:
• Energy & Mining
• Agriculture & Agro-processing
• Tourism & MICE Development
• Financial Services
As Sibayeni Metrofarming, it was especially inspiring to engage on opportunities within agriculture and agro-processing, where innovation, climate-smart solutions, and investment can drive real impact across the region. This forum reaffirmed the importance of regional partnerships, knowledge exchange, and investment-led growth in shaping Africa’s future.

We continue to position ourselves at the intersection of agriculture, innovation, and sustainable development, contributing to Africa’s industrial and food security transformation.

Stand up once again as we celebrate Sibayeni Metrofarming. From South Africa 🇿🇦 to India 🇮🇳, Sibayeni Metrofarming was deeply honoured to engage in a prestigious gathering hosted with the support of the Government of India, the India SME Forum, and the World Bank Group.

It was an inspiring opportunity to connect with dynamic MSMEs across India 🇮🇳 that are producing incredible products, driving innovation, creating jobs, and shaping the future of enterprise. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as business leaders embraced the platform created by the Indian government to exchange knowledge, build partnerships, and learn from one another’s experiences across different countries.

I was privileged to present on the business of AgriTech and Agroprocessing, sharing the journey and vision of Sibayeni Metrofarming from South Africa 🇿🇦. It was a proud moment to showcase African innovation, climate-smart agriculture, and the possibilities of collaboration between nations. Grateful for such an august meeting and the global doors it continues to open.

When I said institutions will write about my business journey, and generations will learn from the work I am doing in AgriTech… I didn’t expect to walk into it so soon.
There are moments that humble you in the most beautiful way. At Ekurhuleni Agricultural College, I stepped into a hydroponics farm we planted during the Easter holidays while some students were away. A senior student confidently took me through the system explaining every detail with such excellence and passion.

She didn’t know who I was.
Only at the end of her presentation, while showing me a poster on the wall… she paused. That was the moment she realised I was the person on the picture she had been learning about.

Her response? “I didn’t sleep… I had to rehearse the guidelines.” While I stood there, deeply moved.
This is bigger than us.
This is impact.
This is what it means to transform agriculture and demystify AgriTech.
We are not just building hydroponic systems…
We are transforming the education system, shaping minds, building confidence, and raising a generation that will take this work even further.

Earth Day 22 April
Today we celebrated Earth Day in a truly meaningful and impactful way at Sibayeni Metrofarming

With sincere gratitude to the Gauteng Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, we received and planted:
200 fruit trees
50 Spekboom
20 shade trees
And this adds to the incredible milestone from just last week after delivering two systems, we then successful transplanted 800 seedlings into our hydroponic systems. This is more than just planting trees, it is planting hope, sustainability, and a greener future for our communities.

Each step we take represents:
Food security for families
Climate action in motion
Innovation through hydroponics and smart farming
Restoration of our environment
A lasting legacy for the next generation

From soil to soilless systems, we are intentionally building a resilient, climate-smart future
At Sibayeni Metrofarming, we remain committed to advancing climate-smart agriculture, empowering communities, and creating green ecosystems that nourish both people and the planet.
Let us continue to grow, plant, and protect what has been entrusted to us

Practical sessions with Future Agri-Professionals
Spending time with our agricultural science graduates during practical hydroponics sessions and my heart is full.
We set up our Sibayeni Metrofarming hydroponic systems, prepared seedlings, and began the exciting process of transplanting. This is the part I enjoy the most: when theory finally meets reality.

After completing their assignments, assessments, exams and whatever course work with their lecturers, then practice begins and suddenly everything clicked. Hearing them say, “Oh, so this is how it works”. For many, it was their first time seeing or touching some of these components in real life.

Watching young agri-professionals light up as they learn is truly my happy place. Anyway it’s Friday, we paused the session and will continue with transplanting next week otherwise I’m happy, well done team.

Here’s to growing knowledge, confidence, and the next generation of smart farmers.
