The continuous detection of N-Nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA) is becoming a problem for pharmaceutical manufacturing, just today the FDA issued a recall for Metformin 500 and 750mg because of traces of NDMA, which is classified as a probable human carcinogen (a substance that could cause cancer) based on results from laboratory tests. NDMA is a known environmental contaminant and found in water and foods, including meats, dairy products, and vegetables. Surprisingly it continue to find its way into our medicines.
