š¤ Friendship Day at Pro Gratia Learning Centre! š
Nothing brings greater comfort than having a friend who truly caresāsomeone who stands by your side through both the good times and the challenging ones. At Pro Gratia Learning Centre, we believe that friendship is about supporting one another, showing compassion, and making a difference through acts of kindness.
To celebrate Friendship Day, our Pro Gratia family came together to collect non-perishable food items for families in need within our community.
Our amazing teachers embraced the spirit of the day by dressing up as cheerful "hobos," bringing plenty of laughter, smiles, and excitement while encouraging everyone to support this meaningful initiative.
We are incredibly grateful to our parents and learners for their outstanding generosity. The donations of food were truly heartwarming, and some families even contributed money, which will be used to purchase additional food items for those who need them most.
There is a special joy in receiving a gift, but an even greater blessing in giving. We are so proud of our Pro Gratia family for demonstrating compassion, kindness, and the true meaning of friendship.
A heartfelt thank you to every parent, learner, staff member, and supporter who contributed to making this initiative such a wonderful success. Together, we are making a differenceāone act of kindness at a time. ā¤ļø

Today we celebrate our precious little warrior, Christiaan Erasmus, and the incredible journey he continues to walk with Microdeletion 4q Syndrome. š
From the very beginning, Christiaan has shown us what true courage looks like. Every obstacle has been met with determination, every challenge with strength, and every milestone has been a victory worth celebrating. Through it all, he has taught us that the greatest warriors don't always wear armorāsometimes they have the biggest hearts and the brightest smiles.
Christiaan, you are stronger than you know, braver than you realize, and loved more than words could ever express. You inspire everyone who has the privilege of knowing you, reminding us every day that hope, resilience, and unconditional love can overcome even the hardest of journeys.
We are incredibly proud of you and forever grateful to walk beside you. It is an honor to be part of your story, to celebrate every achievement, and to watch you continue to shine so brightly. Never forget how deeply you are loved and how many lives you have touched simply by being you.
Today, and every day, we celebrate youāour beautiful, courageous little warrior. We love you beyond measure. š

From 29 June to 3 July, Pro Gratia had the privilege of hosting a TBRI (Trust-Based Relational InterventionĀ®) training, a trauma-informed, attachment-based intervention designed to meet the complex needs of vulnerable children.
The training was presented by Mrs. HelenƩ Hoogenboezen from CMR Ermelo, whose expertise and passion made the experience both enriching and impactful. Participants gained valuable knowledge, practical tools, and a deeper understanding of how to support children who have experienced trauma.
The ladies who attended the training expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the opportunity to participate. They shared that they left feeling equipped, encouraged, and inspired to better support vulnerable children and their families. They described the training as enriching and powerful, and appreciated the practical tools and deeper understanding they gained. We trust that the knowledge and skills they have acquired will have a lasting impact on the lives of the children and families they serve.

To Our Incredible Staff,
Today, we pause to honour the extraordinary people who make our school a place of hope, growth, compassion, and possibility.
Working in a school for learners with special needs is not simply a profession ā it is a calling. Every day, you give far more than lessons and support. You give patience when the day is difficult, encouragement when progress feels slow, comfort when a learner feels overwhelmed, and unwavering belief in every childās potential.
You celebrate the smallest victories that others may overlook, knowing that each step forward is meaningful and hard-earned. You create safe spaces where our learners are seen, valued, understood, and loved for exactly who they are.
Your work requires strength, creativity, resilience, and enormous heart. Behind every breakthrough, every smile, every moment of confidence gained by a learner, there is a staff member who cared enough to keep trying, keep teaching, and keep believing.
Thank you for the early mornings, the late afternoons, the emotional energy, the dedication, and the countless unseen acts of kindness that make such a profound difference in the lives of our learners and their families.
You are not only educators, therapists, assistants, administrators, and support staff ā you are champions, caregivers, advocates, and daily sources of light.
Our school is stronger because of you.
Our learners thrive because of you.
And our community is deeply grateful because of you.
Thank you for all that you do, every single day.
With sincere appreciation and admiration,
Welma Bezuidenhout.
