Congratulations to our 2nd team Netball girls for finishing 4th in Mpumalanga for 2026.

The only other schools in the top four were NHS, Secunda and Hoërskool Middelburg.

A season defined by grit, consistency and quiet determination. These scholars showed up week after week, competing with discipline and growing stronger with every match. To finish among the top teams in the province is a reflection of their commitment to each other and to the standards they set for themselves.

A result that speaks for itself, but more importantly, a foundation for what comes next.

Ten days to go until our Pre College Experience in the United States begins, starting in New York City before continuing to the Cleveland Institute of Art in Ohio.

This immersive creative journey will see scholars engaging in glass blowing, photography, animation, painting and more, alongside visits to world renowned institutions including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, MoMA and the Guggenheim.

Departing on 29 June and returning on 16 July, the programme offers a powerful blend of studio practice and cultural exploration.

Adding further distinction, Mrs Booysen will present a printmaking module, sharing her expertise with an international cohort.

A reminder that meaningful education is shaped through experience, curiosity and creative ambition.

Penryn Scholars Selected for Regional Science Expo!

Following the Penryn Internal Science Expo, several scholars have been selected to represent Penryn at the Regional Science Expo after impressing judges with the quality of their projects and the confidence and professionalism with which they presented their investigations.

The selection was made by Mr Marume, Provincial Eskom Science Expo Coordinator, who attended our expo and identified projects that demonstrated exceptional scientific thinking, creativity, innovation and presentation skills.

With limited spaces available at the regional event, only a select number of projects could be invited to participate, making this a significant achievement for our young scientists.

Congratulations to the following scholars:

Mason Eisen, Rory Clarke, Siphosethu Ndlovu, Zoe Bergh, Blake Macpherson, Nyiko Minya, Matthew Parker, Denver Steyn, Musawenkosi Zwane, Dylan Beer and Cael Jocks.

The Regional Science Expo will take place on Saturday, 8 August 2026.

We are incredibly proud of these scholars for their curiosity, dedication and willingness to explore real world questions through scientific investigation.

We wish them every success as they prepare to showcase their projects at the regional level.

Our journey through England continues as our Preschoolers explore London with curious minds and busy hands. From painting the Union Jack and drawing maps of the London Underground to cutting, creating and decorating their own crowns, each experience invited the children to learn through making and imagining.

What makes these moments so meaningful is that they go far beyond arts and crafts. Through painting, drawing, cutting and creating, the children are developing fine motor skills, building concentration, expressing their ideas and making sense of a world beyond their classroom.

At Penryn Preschool, we believe that big learning happens when children are given the opportunity to interpret what they have learnt in their own unique way.

Congratulations to Kago Marakalla on being named a finalist in the Applications Olympiad and finishing among the Top 7 scholars in South Africa.

The Applications Olympiad is a prestigious competition that challenges scholars to solve complex real world problems using digital tools, requiring exceptional analytical thinking, creativity and technological proficiency.

What makes Kago's achievement even more remarkable is that he does not take either Information Technology or Computer Applications Technology as a subject. His success is a testament to his natural problem solving ability, intellectual curiosity and willingness to challenge himself beyond the classroom.

As a member of the Scholar Executive Committee for 2026, Kago continues to lead by example, demonstrating the values of excellence, determination and lifelong learning.

We are incredibly proud of this outstanding achievement and wish him every success in the final stages of the competition.
