In Montessori education, we start with the big picture before moving to the smaller details because children naturally learn best when they understand the context and relationships of what they are studying. This approach is often called the “cosmic education” method in Montessori.

Here’s why:
1. Understanding context
Before a child learns their address, they need to understand where they fit in the world. Learning that the Earth is part of the solar system gives them a frame of reference for later learning about continents, countries, cities, streets, and finally their own home.
2. Connecting ideas
Montessori emphasizes connection over memorization. By starting with the Earth in the solar system, children see that their home is part of a larger planet, which is part of the universe. This helps them understand relationships between objects and concepts rather than just isolated facts.
3. Sparking curiosity
Starting with the big picture is exciting and inspiring. Children love exploring the universe and planets before focusing on their neighborhood or address. Motivation comes naturally when learning feels meaningful.
4. Supports abstraction
Concrete details (like an address) make more sense when children can relate them to the larger whole. This scaffolding—from cosmic to concrete—helps children retain information and understand it deeply.

“By Their Fruits You Will Know Them” — Matthew 7:20

As I watched our children standing beneath the tree on graduation day, I was reminded of this verse: “Therefore, by their fruits you will know them.”

That tree was such a beautiful picture of what God has done in these children’s lives. Their roots are being formed in His love, and I’ve had the privilege of nurturing each of these precious little ones — the beautiful fruits of the tree God has entrusted to me.

Each smile, each milestone, and every moment of growth reflects His faithfulness and love, watered through the care, guidance, and prayers of all those around them. As they continue to grow, the fruits of kindness, joy, and faith begin to show — evidence of God’s goodness at work within them.

May these precious children keep growing strong and fruitful, deeply rooted in God’s truth and love wherever they go.

And of course, a big shoutout to our Honorary Rangers (Karel & Kim De Beer, Pieter Kruger, Thierrry & Sharon Reniers) whose fun, loving, and hands-on way of teaching brought nature, animal behavior, and conservation to life for our little ones. What a memorable day of learning, laughter, and love for nature! 🦁🐾🌳

PRESCHOOL SPORTS MEET

Today our little ones had the wonderful opportunity to take part in a sport event alongside other preschools! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

These moments are about so much more than just fun and games — they help our learners build confidence, develop social skills, and prepare themselves for the exciting journey into primary school. 💪🎉

And what a joy it was to see our parents being such great sports by joining in the fun too! 🥳👏 Thank you for showing our children the true meaning of teamwork and encouragement. ❤️

We are so proud of every child (and parent!) who participated with such enthusiasm. 🌈✨
