The matter between the Former SRC members and the students leader, Chairman of PASMA of Court Interdict, has been closed.

The good news is that, the court order is no longer in place, it has been with. Meaning it was rendered null and void but then the flipside is that we didn't won our contention of winning the case with cost.

On the second note, our forces who were wrongfully incarcerated, had won the case in the Magistrate Court as it was dismissed due to insufficient evidence and it was by virtue of the Court Interdict being rendered invalid.

We would once more like to forward our message of gratitude to all people who had been rallying behind our call in a quest for the DeCentralization of Power and fight against injustices that are unfolding on our campus. We would also like to plea with all of you to continue with the galvanizing spirit in realizing our long standing issues that have been neglected due to lack of willingness and political will. We shouldn't get tired to fight.

We also welcome the arrival of Prof. Phamela Dube in our Institution, and surely she will be live upto our aspiration as she is the beckon of hope in our campus specifically.

Preamble:
It is not our desire to write this memorandum of demands directed at the acting Vice-Chancellor, but alas we find ourselves with no option to express our grievances nonetheless. For which would be a travesty of injustice to remain quiet, when the student populace at the Central University of Technology (CUT) Welkom Campus are treated with contempt and are disregarded by those put in power to defend them. It is indeed a sad turn of events that a group of students had to journey over 160KM just to get a glimpse of their Vice-Chancellor.
The material conditions that exist in our campus have germinated elements of dysfunctionality that can be located on the question of Centralized Power in a certain campus and exceptionalism that the institution has created. Our existential problems in Welkom Campus (Vista) stems out one of the issue that this memorandum seeks to expands and that is Centralization of Power in Bloemfontein campus.

Background:
It is most befitting that, before expanding and explaining what DeCentralization entails, to take into account the historicity of Welkom Campus as former Vista University and where it is located thereof. Welkom Campus as it exist today as an extension of CUT in Lejweleputswa District is campus that was systematically denied the ability to develop during the Apartheid era. It is one of the campuses in the Free State that was (and still is) predominantly ran by black "Africans" who, despite exclusionary policies, ensured that the academic careers of Africans are ensued in an orderly manner. Since the inception of the historic merger tgat took place in 2004, Welkom Campus has since been stripped off its very core existence and presence as mirror or reflection of society's aspirations.

Statement is to be made available very soon. As we continue to cherrish and remember the sweat, toil, and sufferings we endured and continuing to endure.

Greetings dear students

It is with great pleasure to announce to you that today's High Court appearance went very well as per the schedule and we indeed made crucial submissions as to why Court "rule nisi" interdiction must not be sustained and be ruled out.

Debates on submissions got highly prolonged as there were arguments for and against, the Applicant and Respondents in which in this instance, the institution (CUT/ Prof. Makola) as the Applicant and the SRC & PASMA Chairperson (Students) as the Respondents. Basically, our stance as the respondents was solely based on the Rule of Law in demonstrating the prejudice maneuver that has been explored by the Applicant.

The Judge Lady received, heard and welcomed our submission before her Honourable Court. However, the Honourable Judge did not make ruling whether she is discharging the interdict or is confirming and sustaining the interdict.
She closed the court by stating that she needs to introspect and ponder her mind to the submissions and evidence provided then she will be able to give the final sanction on the case. Meaning, we are to wait for a minimum of 14 days before receiving Judgement.

With the above highlighted factors Forces, we would like to profoundly express our gratitude to everyone who have been behind us in any struggle that the student activism find itself, even when most of you did so when it was not fashionable to do so.
Most importantly, our Attorneys and Advocates are to forever be appreciated by the tremendous stella work that they have put through in making sure that our voices gets to be heard in the Honourable Court in the Land. It will also not be sincerely of us to not appreciate Prof. Brande and Christopher Rawson. We shall tell a story one day.

It is not yet Uhuru, we shall keep advancing in all fronts to ultimately achieve justice over all acts of injustices that are committed by the institution against the us, the children of the downtrodden masses of this occupied land.

Greetings Revolutionary Students

Kindly take note of this following notice
Tomorrow our Forces (Former SRC Members and Chairman of PASMA) who had been interdicted by the institution through High Court are to appear before High Court in Bloemfontein by Tomorrow to show cause as to why the court order must not be made final against them and all who are to be regarded as accomplices.
We shall surely provide you with feedback upon their return.

We have also been made aware that today was the appearance of former Student Affairs (MoAfrika Masopha Porota) to his Disciplinary Hearing against the Institution (herein referred as CUT) as he had since been placed under precautionary suspension "pending investigations". However, we had not been briefed with the outcomes of the sitting, and we shall indeed give the report once we have been given the brief.

Then lasty, we are still patiently waiting the institution to FastTrack the processes of Disciplinary Hearing of the other Forces who recently been placed under precautionary suspension to be served with charge sheets so that the matter can be heard and hopefully the charges be uplifted.
We shall constantly strive to provide updates in so far as the our struggle is concerned.

We hope you find this communication in order.

Greetings fellow students

As we had promised that we shall keep constant communication in updating you regarding any developments. Kindly find the following in order.

As of early morning hours, we had received an indication from our Forces who are relinquishing in the holding cells that they were charged in these morning hours and apparently they will appear before court at 09:00.

For those of you who are able to can show up at Jan Hofmeyer Magistrate Court to provide moral support to our Cadres, are highly welcome and can proceed to come join us as some of us are already there and others are approaching to sort out some administrative affairs.

We are also quite aware that we had once indicated to you that we shall gather at campus and collectively proceed to court together, the idea seem to be impractical to can materialize due to the swift occurrences of events that are unfolding. We unfortunately have no control over the unfolding events.

With that been said Forces, we are hopeful that you shall find this communication in order and positively head to the call.

Dear CUT Students

In light of the catastrophic situation we find ourselves in, we sincerely hope and trust that you are doing well.

First and foremost, we would like to express our heartfelt regrets for the inconveniences caused by the IMBIZO that was planned to unfold earlier this morning for our student population.

Additionally, we will use this page and other channels to convey any relevant information in due course to notify students about the potential for gathering in order to engage on issues affecting students, particularly those involving students who were detained yesterday.

We also acknowledge the position and viewpoint of students who want to show their physical support for our Forces who are being detained for purportotely contravening a court order. Students will be informed of the date of their court appearance if the processes results in a situation where they are charged so that they can show up in large numbers to support.

They are now remaining in good health, and we are optimistic that they will return stronger and healthier.

Aluta Continua!
