🏃‍♀️💚 Today we proudly cheer on our very own (Acting) Deputy Principal, Ms Msuseni, as she takes on the ultimate human race,the Comrades Marathon!

The same determination, resilience, discipline and heart that she brings to Molenbeek School every day are the qualities that have carried her through months of preparation and training.

Today is not just about crossing the finish line. The commitment, sacrifices, early mornings and perseverance required to stand on that starting line are already an incredible achievement.

Ms Msuseni, thank you for inspiring our learners, staff and school community. We are immensely proud of you and will be cheering you on every step of the way!

Today, our Junior and Intermediate Phase learners embarked on an exciting educational excursion to the Science Centre!

🍪👩‍🍳 Tuesday in our Vocational Phase 👨‍🍳🍪

Our Vocational Phase learners spent the day baking delicious chocolate cookies as part of their practical skills programme.
Activities such as baking help learners develop important vocational and life skills, including following instructions, measuring accurately, working safely, managing time, and working collaboratively. Most importantly, it gives learners the opportunity to build confidence through meaningful, hands-on learning experiences.

The wonderful smell of freshly baked cookies was an added bonus! Well done to all our learners on a job well done.

🌍✈️ Molenbeek’s World Play Day 2026 – Around the World Through Play! 🎉
What an incredible day of laughter, learning, and adventure as our learners travelled the globe without ever leaving Molenbeek!

From the Safari Adventure Course in Africa, to the Colour Explosion Zone in India, the Fiesta Games of Mexico, the Calm Sensory Garden in Japan, and the Water Play Beach Zone in Australia, every destination offered opportunities to explore, imagine, create, and most importantly PLAY!
World Play Day reminded us that play is not just fun...play is how children learn, connect, grow, and thrive. Through movement, creativity, teamwork, and discovery, our learners celebrated the joy of childhood (and so did our staff! )while experiencing different cultures from around the world.

A heartfelt thank you to our staff, learners, our OT students and supporters who helped make this day such a memorable success.

⚠️ SCHOOL CLOSURE NOTICE ⚠️
In line with the WCED announcement, Molenbeek LSEN School will be closed on Tuesday, 12 May 2026 due to severe weather conditions expected across the province.
Please note that learner transport will also be suspended.
We wish all our learners, families and staff a safe and warm day at home and look forward to welcoming everyone back on Wednesday, 13 May 2026. 💙
