DTC Campus N4 Financial Management Students Showcase Entrepreneurial Skills

Majuba TVET College’s Dundee Technology Centre (DTC) Campus N4 Financial Management students recently hosted a successful Market Day, showcasing their entrepreneurial skills, creativity and business knowledge.

The Market Day provided students with an opportunity to put their classroom learning into practice by planning and operating their own small businesses.
Students displayed a variety of products and services, while engaging with fellow students and staff as customers.

The initiative encouraged students to develop important skills such as financial management, marketing, customer service, teamwork and business planning. It also provided a practical platform for students to gain valuable experience in running a business and understanding the realities of entrepreneurship.

The successful Market Day demonstrated the commitment of Majuba TVET College to providing students with practical learning opportunities that prepare them for the world of work and entrepreneurship.

DOCRAT Group Strengthens MTC Campus with Fault-Finding Equipment

Majuba TVET College’s Majuba Technology Centre (MTC) Campus recently welcomed the DOCRAT Group, who made a valuable contribution towards strengthening the College’s practical training facilities.

The DOCRAT Group donated specialised fault-finding machinery to the campus, which will be utilised in the Motor Mechanics Workshop. The equipment will assist students and lecturers in identifying and diagnosing faults more efficiently, thereby enhancing practical lessons and hands-on training.

The partnership between Majuba TVET College and the DOCRAT Group extends beyond the donation. The College already has an established partnership with the Group, which provides valuable opportunities for Majuba students to undertake apprenticeships and workplace learning. This collaboration plays an important role in bridging the gap between classroom-based learning and industry experience.

The donated equipment will further strengthen the practical training environment and ensure that students are exposed to relevant, industry-aligned technology and skills.

IT & Business Campus Students Showcase Entrepreneurial Skills at Market Day

Majuba TVET College’s IT and Business Campus Hospitality and Financial Management N4 students recently hosted a successful Market Day, providing students with an exciting platform to put their classroom knowledge and entrepreneurial skills into practice.

The event gave students an opportunity to develop and showcase their business planning, marketing, financial management, customer service and hospitality skills in a practical environment. Students established and managed their own stalls, offering a variety of products and services to fellow students, staff and visitors.

For the Hospitality students, the Market Day provided valuable exposure to food preparation, presentation and customer service, while the Financial Management students had the opportunity to apply their knowledge of costing, budgeting, sales and basic financial management.

The event was characterised by creativity, enthusiasm and healthy competition, with students demonstrating their ability to work as teams and manage their businesses effectively.

The successful Market Day reflects Majuba TVET College’s commitment to work-integrated learning and entrepreneurship, equipping students with practical skills and experiences that prepare them for the world of work and potential self-employment.
