Today the Kwena family has lost one of its greatest supporters. Ruth Place, affectionately known as Mama Place, passed away just two months short of her 103rd birthday.
Ruth supported the work done in Kwena and the Wits student teachers by supporting her daughter, Dr Jean Place. Her wisdom of the classroom and her love and care for the students that she accompanied on teaching prac with Dr Place left a lasting impression.
