Missing Jesus? Finding the Shepherd we lost.

Recently, John visited Emseni in Benoni to address probationer ministers at a seminar under the Methodist Church of Southern Africa.

He spoke on spiritual disciplines, with a particular focus on integrating these disciplines and Wesleyan spirituality into one’s personal life and vocational ministry, especially in the formation of ministers in training.

He made the teaching very practical, highlighting traits that a minister should let go of and those a minister should intentionally adopt.

In our prison ministry, the Missing Jesus Course, one of the questions we asked the offenders who are part of the course was, “Where do you think Jesus is missing in your life?”

One of the offenders shared that there is no place where Jesus is missing in his life because Jesus is always with him, which is true and amazing.

I believe this is something many of us can say. But the real question is this: Do you have a relationship with Jesus? Do you know Jesus for yourself, or are you still missing Him?
