📚💙 MATRIC INCUBATION: SESSION 1 COMPLETE! 💙📚

One weekend down, three more to go! 🎓🔥

Our first Grade 12 Matric Incubation was successfully completed this weekend, with our learners and teachers putting in the extra hours through targeted academic support, focused study sessions and preparation for the week’s preliminary examination papers.

A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated teachers, support staff and parents for giving their time, energy and encouragement to make the weekend possible. And to our Grade 12 learners — thank you for showing up, pushing through the long hours and choosing to invest in yourselves and your futures. 💙

These weekends are about more than simply studying. They are about creating an environment where our learners have the support, resources and guidance they need during one of the most important academic periods of their school careers.

Three incubation sessions remain, and the work continues! 💪📖

To the Class of 2026: stay focused, stay disciplined and keep going. Every extra lesson, every revision session and every hour of preparation is another step closer to the finish line. 🏁🎓

🌸🇿🇦 Y-CAP PRESENTS: SPRINGBOK & MINI SPRING DAY! 🇿🇦🌸

Our Y-CAP learners are taking the lead! 💚💛

On Friday, 4 September 2026, our Y-CAP learners will be hosting a Springbok & Mini Spring Day Fundraising Event — a day packed with food, fun, games, colour and plenty of school spirit! 🥳🌈

Learners are encouraged to come dressed in a Springbok T-shirt with anything appropriate and join us for activities including rugby, musical chairs, colour splash, colour run, sack races, dance battles, quizzes and so much more! 🏉🎶🏃🏽‍♀️

And come hungry! 😭😂 There will be samosas, burgers, chicken & chips, hot dogs, cupcakes, slushies, mocktails, ice cream and plenty more available throughout the day. 🍔🍟🧁🥤

🏆 BONUS: You could even walk away with an L.E.S.S. certificate — and apparently the bragging rights will last long! 😂

What makes this event especially exciting is seeing our Y-CAP learners turn their ideas into action — planning, organising and working together to create something their fellow learners can enjoy while raising funds. 💙

🎓💙 TO OUR MATRIC CLASS OF 2026 — IT’S PREP TIME! 💙📚

The books have been opened, the extra lessons attended, the incubation sessions have begun, and now it is time to show yourselves what you are capable of. ✍🏽✨

As our Grade 12 learners begin their Preparatory Examinations, the entire Lichtenburg English Secondary School family wishes you strength, focus and success. 💙

These examinations are more than another set of papers. They are an opportunity to measure how far you have come, identify where you still need to improve and prepare yourselves for the final examinations that lie ahead.

Some papers will feel easier than expected. Others may challenge you. Do not allow one difficult question, one difficult paper or one difficult day to determine how you approach the next one. Pick yourself up, refocus and keep going. 💪🏽

Read every question carefully. Manage your time. Trust your preparation. And most importantly, give every paper your absolute best.

To our teachers, parents and support staff who continue to sacrifice their time, weekends and energy to prepare and encourage our Matrics — thank you. Your support does not go unnoticed. 💙

🕶️ MEN IN BLACK DAY 🖤

The Grade 12s understood the assignment — black suits, dark shades and serious main-character energy. 😎🕴️

Inspired by Men in Black, our Class of 2026 swapped the usual school look for something a little more mysterious as they continued their Matric Ball fundraising journey. From secret-agent poses to outfits that looked suspiciously expensive 😂, they definitely brought style, confidence and personality to the school grounds.

Another fundraiser, another memory made. 💙 As the countdown to the Matric Ball continues, we love seeing our Grade 12s make the most of their final year together.

💙✨ SCHOOL SPIRIT, BUT MAKE IT FASHION! ✨💙

Who said fundraising had to be boring? 😭🔥

Our Grade 12s have been making the most of their final year with two fun-filled fundraising days in support of their upcoming Matric Ball — Pimp Your Uniform Day and Vintage Day! 👔🕰️✨

For Pimp Your Uniform Day, the usual school uniform rules got a tiny vacation 😂. Learners added their own personality to the blue and white with customised outfits, accessories and some very creative interpretations of what technically counts as “uniform.” 👀😭

Then came Vintage Day, and suddenly L.E.S.S. travelled several decades backwards! From old-school suits and dresses to traditional pieces, headscarves and accessories, our learners raided Gogo and Mkhulu’s fashion archives and somehow still made it look cool. 😂🔥

But behind all the outfits, laughter and pictures is a wonderful purpose. These initiatives are organised by our Grade 12 learners, for our Grade 12 learners, as they work together to raise funds towards making their 2026 Matric Ball a memorable celebration. 💃🏽🕺🏽

We are incredibly proud to see our Matrics taking initiative, working together and finding creative ways to contribute towards their own special occasion.

A huge thank you to every learner, teacher and member of the L.E.S.S. family who participated, contributed and supported these fundraising efforts. Every contribution brings the Class of 2026 one step closer to their big night. 💙

To our Matrics: these are the little moments you’re going to miss. The ridiculous outfits, the pictures with your friends, the laughter between classes and all the memories made while counting down the final months of high school. 🥹

So enjoy them. Your last year only happens once.

💙📚 GRADE 12 INCUBATION PROGRAMME STARTS TOMORROW! 📚💙

Dear Grade 12 Parents/Guardians and Learners,

A friendly reminder that our Grade 12 Incubation Programme officially begins tomorrow, Friday, 28 August 2026.

As our learners prepare for their Preliminary Examinations, this programme has been arranged to provide them with dedicated time for intensive revision, additional academic support and focused preparation under the supervision of their teachers.

⏰ IMPORTANT FOR TOMORROW:
Grade 12 learners must report to school at 12:00.
Learners should NOT come to school in the morning.

📅 Incubation Schedule:
• Week 1: 28–30 August 2026 — ends Sunday at 13:00
• Week 2: 4–6 September 2026 — ends Sunday at 13:00
• Week 3: 11–13 September 2026 — ends Sunday at 13:00
• Week 4: 18 September 2026 — ends at 13:00

Please note that ALL Grade 12 learners are expected to attend the incubation programme.

These next few weeks are incredibly important. We encourage our learners to make full use of this opportunity: ask questions, revise thoroughly, support one another and remain focused on the goal ahead. Every extra hour of preparation now can make a difference when you sit down to write your examinations. 💙

To our parents and guardians, thank you for continuing to support, encourage and motivate our Grade 12s during this demanding final stretch of their school journey. Your partnership with the school is deeply appreciated.

🕰️✨ VINTAGE DAY AT L.E.S.S. — OLD SCHOOL NEVER LOOKED THIS GOOD! ✨🕰️

Today our learners turned back the clock and brought the classics back to life! From timeless dresses and old-school suits to traditional pieces and accessories straight from another era, the creativity was definitely showing. 💙

Vintage Day gave our learners the opportunity to have fun, express themselves and celebrate styles from generations before them — with their own L.E.S.S. twist, of course. 😎

Who knew a trip into Gogo and Mkhulu’s wardrobe could produce this much drip? 😂🔥

At Lichtenburg English Secondary School, school spirit is about more than academics — it’s also about creating memories, celebrating one another and enjoying the journey together.
