An elegant and artistic Women's Day event took place on the 12th of August, 2023. The attendees were treated with a sense of regality as they strolled down the Red Carpet upon arrival, leading them to a lavish and scrumptiously laid-out garden breakfast. The latter half of the indulgent experience unfolded in the Alpha School hall, which was adorned with aesthetics befitting royalty. Noleen Pillay, in her inaugural role as this year's Programme Director for Women's Day, orchestrated a seamless and dynamic progression of the day's events. With a spirited approach, she introduced the Guest Speakers, Principal Hasina Mahomed and Lucy Sigabon, both of whom captured the audience's attention with their compelling discussions on motivation and women's empowerment. Mrs. Hasina Mahomed presented her debut book, "The Persistence of Phenomenal Women," a gift thoughtfully included in each attendee's token of appreciation. Lucy Sigabon enraptured the audience as she spoke about the role of women in the Digital Age, and graciously distributed gifts to those who actively engaged in her discourse. The skilled and creative Ayesha Vahed from Glamcrafts showcased her artistic prowess by demonstrating her craft on canvas. Through a fortuitous draw, she presented a completed painting to a fortunate lady in the audience. The ambiance exuded vibrancy, creativity, and a spirit of benevolence, as numerous women received gifts through the assortment of lucky draws. The entertainment and engaging activities were expertly overseen by the talented Zeenit Jamal, whose presence infused the event with excitement, fun, and laughter amongst the attendees. The artistic talents of Jubeidah Smith shone through the centerpieces adorning each table; these unique creations were auctioned off under the guidance of Faheema Valymia. Expressing profound gratitude, Alpha Primary extends its thanks to every attendee who contributed generously, particularly Table 4, where a winning bid of R2800 secured a floral centerpiece. The event was further elevated by the captivating performances of Nirvana Stars and Pooja Madhav, who graced the crowd with their lively music and choreography. Heartfelt appreciation is extended to the diligent Women's Day committee: Zeenit Jamal, Noleen Pillay, Jubeidah Smith, Zeenat Bhamjee, Shazia Mohamed, Damini Mithal, Feroza Mohamed, Fatima Gani, and Feroza Kasu.
