MATHEMATICS AND THE VESTIBULAR SYSTEM
Every child can do mathematics because the child was born with an innate number concept, which is fundamental to understanding mathematics: one head, neck and belly button; two eyes, ears, arms and legs.
If a child has problems with mathematics at school, it could be due to a faulty relationship with gravity. Mathematics deals with abstract concepts, but it is also tied to our body. It is no accident that children often use their fingers for counting.
Mathematical actions also require developed spatial orientation by providing a concrete sense of where, next to, in between, in front, above, etc. Addition is like subtraction, only in the opposite direction. Division and multiplication are also similar operations, only in the opposite direction. If a child has difficulties due to conflicting information between input from different senses, and a poorly developed sense of spatial orientation, mathematics may be problematic. This is not because the child does not have the mathematics gene, but rather because his nervous system is still immature and can be developed.
