We held our annual prize giving ceremony on 6 November 2024 🥇 Our theme this year was Bubblegum Brain 🧠.

This is an opportunity for us to celebrate the positive progress of our students during this year 📈.

A special mention goes out to our students who achieved ASHR (Advanced Student Honour Roll - 6 months above grade level), ASHR 2 (2 years above grade level) and KIS (Kumon International Standard - Grade Level).

Each year, we are delighted to see the joy on our students' faces when they receive their certificates as a token of their continuous effort and hard work throughout the year 🏆.

How does Kumon Connect work?
✔️ Just like the traditional method of Kumon, students attend class twice a week and receive homework the other five days.
✔️ Students complete all assignments on their tablet with a stylus.
✔️ Each daily assignment will be ready when the student signs in.
✔️ Once assignments are complete, they can be submitted for daily grading and students will be notified when corrections are necessary.
✔️ Instructors can replay the work of completed assignments to see skill development and provide feedback even when the student has completed their work at home.

Using Kumon Connect, parents can monitor their children's progress in real-time. Your Kumon Instructor can also send supportive comments, provide helpful study hints, and adjust their ongoing study plan accordingly 😁

Yandisa's son, Songe, attends our Kumon Beacon Bay Study Centre and she has shared such a wonderful story of success with us! ✨

She said: "My son has been struggling a lot with concentration at school. He would get a good report, but the concentration issue would come up all the time since he was in grade R. This was starting to affect his performance because a lack of concentration meant he missed out on instructions thus not completing work as he is supposed to. 🤔

I was ready to get medical intervention, in fact, he got on concentration pills for a couple of days then we stopped. He never took them again. 🙅🏽

Last week I had a meeting with his teacher, just for general feedback. The first thing she asked me was, "What are you doing differently?". She said that throughout the term she "experienced a miracle turnaround with my son, so much that he has improved his aggregate by 7%" which she said was great. 🤩

I told her I enrolled him in Kumon Maths, as she had once suggested to me. She asked what else? I said, "Nothing". I still encourage him every day. She told me to continue because it’s doing wonders for my son and he will soon reach the potential that he has. I thought I should share that Kumon is definitely helping him all-round.

Katelyn says that her 3-year-old daughter, Ariah, learned how to hold a pencil and follow patterns, she is now starting to write out alphabets and recognise letters and words! 🤓

The Kumon Method aims for students to go beyond their school-grade level through self-learning and advance to studying high school-level material at an early age 🤓

When studying at the “just-right” level students think for themselves and complete the exercises. The worksheets include hints and examples to guide them if they are stuck, so they can figure out how to do the exercises themselves. 😇

By continuing to study at the "just-right" level, students will have the ability to learn on their own, or as we say at Kumon, “to self-learn” 😁

Their own self-learning ability allows them to progress beyond their grade level and to more difficult exercises 📚
