Salaams to all. Alhumdulillah a 14 hour incident free TUGELA GORGE HIKE day . A challenge for many of our learners with a total return distance of about 16km.
Jazakallah to
1) Dawood Bhaijee and Moulana Hoosen for all the Pre hike nitty gritties and for the "on day" presence.
2) The 10 educators who accompanied us
3) Our alumni...Uwais, Ubaid, Muawiyah, Akbar and Muhummad Junaid for sorting out the braai on our return ( in the dark ). It was really refreshing and appreciated by a bunch of avaricious, exhausted learners and educators.
4) Ahmed Asvat and Goolam Hoosen Hansa for being part of the team
5) To our learners for being such good sports. Some said "never again", others were ecstatic while others succeeded in breaking their personal pain and exhaustion barrier. Indications are that >80% had never walked this far before nor have they done this route .
Allah blessed us with a wonderful day even from a weather perspective.
