MRTT has been requested by the office od the MEC for Education Mr. Bonakele Majuba to partner with the DOE and provide the Technical skills required for the Nelson Mandela events in the Province. In Gert Sibande the event will be at Breyten and for Nkangala it will be in Thembisile Hani Local Municipality at Thuthukani Primary. An amount of R 100 000 has been deposited to the school for material. Tasks that our learners will be performing are:
1. Carpentry work ( Repair roof trusses.
2. Roof waterproofing and painting.
3. Install and repair ceiling in 13 classrooms
4. Replace gutters and downpipe.
5. Paint walls internally and ceiling
Paint doors, doors frames and window frames.
6. Carpentry work commenced today. Plumbers and painters will start next Monday
7. Learners who enrolled for B& CC in the Artisan Development program will be the ones do do the Paint work.
8. Learners who enrolled for Carpentry at the Emalahleni Training Centre are performing Carpentry work

It will be celebrated as follows:
1. Learners and teachers should be dressed in working outfits (overalls etc)
*N.B*Learners should not bring along their learning material**

2. Parents, former learners and community members are encouraged to join the campaign by volunteering their services. I.e cleaning, planting of trees, returning stolen school material; and all other activities that will be available at the school.
