On 15 and 16 August 2026, the girls from Oasis Excellence Academy had the opportunity to attend a two-day girls’ golf camp in Kathu.

The camp provided them with an opportunity to learn, develop their golfing skills, and connect with other young girls who share the same passion for golf. It was a wonderful experience filled with learning, engagement, and building new friendships.

Founded in 2019 by the visionary Ms. Thandi Motsaathebe, Oasis Excellence Academy was established with a heartfelt commitment to providing every child with access to quality education in a safe, nurturing, and inspiring environment. Her dream was simple yet profound—to create a place where every learner is encouraged to discover their unique potential and grow with confidence.

Oasis Excellence Academy is proudly registered with the Department of Education and continues to grow in response to the needs of our community. We currently offer education from Grade RRR to Grade 8, with a new grade being introduced each year as we steadily expand our academic offerings.

We believe that every child is gifted, and our mission is to unlock those gifts through purposeful learning and meaningful experiences. While providing a strong academic foundation, we are equally committed to nurturing creativity, character, confidence, leadership, and a lifelong love of learning.

Understanding that true education extends beyond the classroom, our learners participate in innovative enrichment programmes such as Abagility Maths Club, Computer 4 Kids, and Agriculture 4 Kids. These programmes cultivate critical thinking, digital literacy, problem-solving skills, and an appreciation for innovation and sustainability. We are also excited to introduce Tinypreneurs and Robotics in the near future, further equipping our learners with entrepreneurial, technological, and future-ready skills.

The school is under the capable leadership of Mrs. Lorato Setlhalefo, a passionate and accomplished educational leader whose dedication continues to inspire excellence among learners, educators, and the wider school community. Her unwavering commitment ensures that our founding vision remains alive in every classroom, every lesson, and every success story.

Our learners proudly dressed in 👒👔 vintage clothing as part of the celebration, embracing the spirit of our nation’s youth and heritage. ✨

We were also privileged to host visitors from SUDI (Substance Use Disorder Intervention) and The Fortunate, who shared valuable lessons with our learners about the dangers of substance abuse 🚭💊 and the importance of standing against bullying 🚫👊. Their inspiring presentations encouraged our learners to make positive choices, build healthy relationships, and support one another. 🤝❤️

Today our learners learned so much — not only through theory, but also through practical work! 🌱♻️

Our learners worked hard while building their recycling site 🪵🔨. They carried planks, painted with excitement 🎨, and did a lot of creative handwork 👷🏽‍♂️👷🏽‍♀️. It was wonderful to see teamwork, dedication, and enthusiasm throughout the day. 💚

By working together, our learners are learning the importance of recycling, protecting the environment, and keeping our surroundings clean and beautiful 🌍✨. We are so proud of their hard work and positive attitudes! 👏😊
