We are proud to announce that our learners won Gold at the Western Cape Mobility Department Participatory Educational Techniques (PET) Road Safety Competition! 🚸

Through research, community engagement and practical solutions, our learners showed that young people can be powerful voices for safer roads and safer communities.

🌱🌍 Growing Together Through Learning

One of the highlights of our Global Exploration Exchange was a visit to the beautiful Soneike High School gardens, led by our Deputy Principal, Mr Hanslo.

As our guests from Porta Mosana harvested fresh vegetables for the evening's potjie competition, they were treated to an inspiring lesson on the history, purpose, and impact of the garden project. Mr Hanslo shared how the gardens promote sustainability, environmental awareness, and food security while providing valuable learning opportunities for our learners.

It was a meaningful experience where education, culture, and service came together—showing that some of life's greatest lessons are grown from the ground up.

Thank you, Mr Hanslo, for sharing your passion and knowledge, and for reminding us that every seed planted today helps grow a better tomorrow. 🌿💚

Soneike High School Debate Team Shines Against Plumstead High School 🏆

On Friday, 29 May 2026, Soneike High School hosted Plumstead High School in what was a thrilling and highly competitive debate encounter featuring both our Junior and Senior debate teams.

Our Junior team, led by Abigail Kiyongo, put up a courageous performance. Although they narrowly missed out on the victory, they demonstrated excellent preparation, confidence, and determination throughout the debate. We are incredibly proud of their effort and fighting spirit.

The Senior team, captained by Imikhuti Manxanga and supported by Oyama Cele and Lutho Koto, delivered an outstanding performance. The team's chemistry, confidence, and command of the debate were evident from the start as they consistently applied pressure and showcased exceptional critical thinking and public speaking skills.

This debate fixture highlighted the tremendous talent that exists within Soneike High School and reinforced the growing strength of debating as a code at our school. The future is certainly bright for our debaters, and we look forward to many more successes in the years ahead.

Congratulations to all our learners who participated and represented Soneike with pride and excellence. 💙💛
