🚌💙 A brand-new bus, a bigger journey of possibility 💙🚌

Today, something truly extraordinary happened at Alta du Toit School…

The City of Cape Town has donated a brand-new school bus to Alta du Toit School! 🎉🚌

For our learners, this is so much more than a vehicle. It means opportunity, participation, independence and belonging. It means being able to explore, learn, compete, experience and take their place in the wider community. 💙

At Alta du Toit School, we believe that every learner deserves the opportunity to have a place in the community — to be seen, valued, included and given opportunities to contribute. Every day, we work to prepare our learners not only for school, but for life beyond our gates.

And now, this incredible bus will help make even more of those opportunities possible. 🚌✨

A very special thank you to Kuils River Ward Councillor Wouter de Vos, Johan van der Merwe and Bronwyn Fisher for your dedication and support in making this possible. Your belief in our learners and your commitment to our school mean more than words can express. 👓 The gift of being able to see 👓

Sometimes, something as simple as seeing clearly can make a world of difference. ✨

Today, 21 of our learners had their eyes tested thanks to the wonderful team from CareVision Durbanville. 👓

A special thank you to Optometrist M. Mphathiswa and his amazing assistant, N. Nwabisa, for the care, patience and kindness they showed our learners. 💙

What stood out most was not only the professional care they provided, but the beautiful way they connected with our children — making them feel comfortable, valued and at ease throughout the process. 🌟

For our learners, being able to see clearly can mean so much more than reading a board or recognising a face. It can mean greater independence, confidence, participation and the opportunity to experience the world around them more fully.

Because every child deserves the chance to see the ability, see the possibilities and see the world with confidence. 💙✨

🪵💙 Turning generosity into creativity! 💙🪵

A heartfelt thank you to Leon Westhuizen for generously donating wood to Alta du Toit School. Teacher Karina Goodwin and her learners put their creativity, skills and teamwork to work, transforming the wood into these beautiful creations for our Fun Run! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️✨

We are so proud to see our learners using their talents to create something meaningful and contribute to an event that celebrates ABILITY, inclusion and possibility. 💙

🌸🌼 Hello, Spring! 🌼🌸

Spring has officially sprung at Alta du Toit School! 🌷✨ Today, we celebrated the season of new beginnings, sunshine and beautiful blooms by dressing up in our favourite flower-inspired outfits. 🌺🌻🌹

Our school was blooming with colour, smiles and plenty of Spring Day joy! 💐💛 What a lovely way to welcome the new season! 🌱☀️

🪘✨ CASUAL DAY 2026! ✨🪘

Today we swapped our school uniforms for casual clothes, colourful outfits and plenty of smiles! 😎🥁

Our learners and staff had fun showing off their individual style while supporting a very important cause — raising funds and awareness to support persons with disabilities. 💛

Thank you to everyone who participated and helped us make a difference, one casual outfit at a time! 🥰

🚗🍪 Beep beep… sweet cars coming through! 🍪🚗

Yesterday, Teacher Marleze Ferreira’s class turned learning into a delicious adventure! 😋✨

With shortbread biscuits, colourful icing and Smarties for wheels, our learners got creative and built their very own edible cars! 🚙🌈🍬

There were plenty of sticky fingers, creative ideas, happy smiles and, of course, a little taste-testing along the way! 🤭

So proud of their creations, the learners took their sweet little cars for a “drive” to the principal’s office to show Mr. Erasmus — and naturally, he received his very own biscuit car to enjoy too! 🍪🚗💨

Who knew learning could be this delicious? ❤️

Well done, little bakers! You certainly put the FUN into learning! 🌟👏
