JEHOVAH IN THE CHURCH OF THE NAZARITES

Today’s sermon title is; “Jehovah in the church of the amaNazaretha.”

Leviticus 20:26:
“you are to be holy to me because I, the Lord, am holy, and I have set you apart from the nations to be my own.”

The name, “Nazarite” is derived from Hebrew language which is “Nazir.”

A Nazarite is one who is separated unto God, or whose whole life is dedicated to god by keeping all the commandments of God.

This word came from god Jehovah himself. In numbers 6:1-8 it is written:

“the lord said to Moses, ‘speak to the Israelites and say to them: ‘if a man or a woman wants to make a special vow, a vow of separation to the lord as a Nazarite, he must abstain from wine and other fermented drink and must not drink vinegar made from wine or from other fermented drink. He must not drink grape juice or eat grapes or raisins.

As long as he is a Nazarite, he must not eat anything that comes from the grapevine, not even the seed or skins.

During the entire period of his vow of separation, no razor must be used on his head. He must be holy until the period of his separation to the LORD is over, he must let the hair of his head grow long. Throughout the period of his separation to the LORD, he must not go near a dead body.

Even if his own father or mother or brother or sister dies, he must not make himself ceremonially unclean on account of them, because the symbol of his separation to god is on his head.

Throughout the period of separation, he is consecrated to the LORD.”

On top of the general Mosaic laws, god added three special laws for he Nazarite, which is to abstain from drinking liquor, not shaving hair and not touching of the co**se.

This was a short period vow, and when stopping the vow one would shave his hair.

Later God introduced men who were born Nazarites and throughout their lives were Nazarites. This is the long period or permanent Nazarite. They did not have to take any vow.

In Judges 13:3-5 it is written:

“The angel of the lord appeared to her (wife of Manoah) and said; ‘you are sterile and childless, but you are going to conceive and have a son. Now see to it that you drink no wine or other fermented drink and that you do not eat anything unclean, because you will conceive and give birth to a son. No razor may be used on his head because the boy has to be a Nazarite, set apart to God from birth, and he will begin the deliverance of Israel from the hands of the Philistines.”
The difference between this vow and the vow in numbers 6 is that the vow in numbers 6 was a short period vow, and yet this in judges 13 is a long period vow.

Another person who lived a long period vow was Prophet Samuel. In 1 Samuel 1:11 it is written:

“and she (Hannah) made a vow, saying, ‘o LORD Almighty, if you will only look upon your servant’s misery and remember me, and not forget your servant but give her a son, then I will give him to the LORD for all the days of his life, and no razor will ever be used on his head.” Indeed, Hannah conceived and had a boy who she named, Samuel. She took him to the temple where he grew, living with the priest, Eli. Later Samuel became the Prophet of God.

In the new testament the first person known to us as the Nazarite was John the Baptist.

In Luke 1:16 it is written:
“for he (john) will be great in the sight of the LORD. He is never to take wine or fermented drink, and he will be filled with the holy spirit even from birth. Many of the people of Israel will he bring back to their God.”

Another person who was a Nazarite from birth was Jesus Christ. We are aware of the hot debate which is always raised about Jesus Christ being a Nazarite.

But as it was always the case when the new testament was compiled, a lot of editing was done with a deliberate aim of making it suite the new faith.

The book of Mathew was translated to Latin from Hebrew book written by the followers of Jesus Christ, named “the gospel of the Nazareons.”

In chapter 2:15 of the gospel of the Nazareons it was written:

“this fulfilled what was said by God through the prophets, when god said, ‘i called my son(Jesus)the nazarite, who was in Egypt.”

But Jerome changed verse 2:15 to 2:23 and in his translation wrote:

“and he(joseph) went and lived in a town called Nazareth. So was fulfilled that was said through the Prophets,” he will be called a Nazarene.”

The word “Nazarene” was used to confuse Jesus the nazarite with the name of the town.

But the prophets said that it was god who said that Jesus was the nazarite from birth, similar to Samson.

But when Jerome translated this verse, he then said that the prophets prophesied that he is the Nazarene because he would grow up at Nazareth town, not that it was god who called Jesus, the nazarite.

The reason why it had to be hidden that Jesus was the nazarite, was because that name was the name of Jewish faith which had been rejected in the new faith, as this started by branding Jehovah as the Jewish God and removed his name from the scripture, and replacing it with “LORD.”

The prevailing notion was that god Jehovah is a Jewish god, and therefore, this name “Jehovah” with all that is attached to it, must be removed from the new faith. But the truth is that it is God who said Jesus was the nazarite!

Jesus was not only the nazarite, but he was the leader of the church of the Nazarites. Although there are many biblical books on this issue, these facts were hidden in the new testament!

In acts 24:5 it is written:
“we have found this man to be a troublemaker, stirring up riots among the Jews all over the world, he is the ringleader of the Nazarene sect (church).” The one referred to here is Paul.

We all know that Paul never had his sect or church other than that he was the ringleader in the church of Christ.

Therefore, if you read with clear comprehension, you ought to ask yourself just where all of a sudden the Nazarene sect or church the leader of which was Paul came from, because other than in this verse we are not told about it?

This church the leader of which was Paul, was the church of Jesus Christ. But you will not find this in the new testament, it was deliberately hidden!

I do not know how they forgot to remove this verse from the new testament. But it is common that when you think your craftiness has succeeded, the truth inadvertently simply comes out.

In acts 11:26 it is written:
“and when he found him, he brought him to Antioch. So for a whole year Barnabas and soul met with the church and taught great numbers of people. The disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.”

When thorough reading this verse, you will notice that there is something not clear here. The writer says that they were meeting as the church, but he does not tell us the name of the church which was meeting there.

All of a sudden he is telling us that at that place members of the church were for the first time called Christians.
The question is, before members of this church were called Christians, how were they called? Is there any church which has no name?

If in this verse the truth were to be told, it should have been written, “it was first in Antioch where the Nazarites were called Christians.”

But you will never get the name of the church of Christ in the new testament, instead you will see it being called “believers.”

But to say we are believers is not the name of the church. We are all believers, but our churches where we belong to, have names!

There is nothing as dangerous as to build the church on the foundation of falsehood, for there are intelligent people who will eventually notice this fabrication, then they aver that this faith does not exist, it is the craftiness of the whites, we are made fools by whites; therefore, we must seek our faith and return to our god.

But there is nothing which is our special god, there is one god, one laws of god, and god is for all people!

But because of this craftiness our religion is based on, observant people notice this, and then preach the gospel that this religion is nothing but religious subterfuge by the whites.

In 1990s I was invited in another symposium at wits university. In that symposium there was a white professor who delivered a paper on prophet Isaiah Shembe. Though a professor in theology, he was saying all things untrue, even averring that Shembe dwarfed Jesus as he did not mention him in his hymns.

Another white scholar who was so conversant about Shembe’s work, requested me that the following year I write a paper where I would be correcting this professor on things he was averring. I did that the following year in the very symposium.

But what I did was to point out was that in actual fact it was Jesus who was dwarfing Jehovah because he never mentioned his named in his gospel.

at that time, I was not aware that Jesus mentioned the name of Jehovah several times, but what happened was that in the new testament wherever Jesus mentioned “Jehovah,” this was replaced by the word, “the lord.”

That is why i say that it is dangerous to teach falsehood about god, for religious people will notice that, and start saying the whole bible is teaching us falsehood about god, whereas the true gospel was changed to suite other people.

The bible is the prescribed book of the church of the amaNazaretha as was expounded by her founder, prophet Isaiah Shembe. The bible is the basic foundation of this faith.

When the bible contains things which will confuse the members of the church of the amaNazaretha, it is the duty placed on us as leaders of this church to correct mistakes in it, in order to avoid the attack of this holy scripture which the prophet declared to be the foundation of our religion.

After ubuNazaretha (nazariety) had been rejected by the gentile Christians, Jehovah sent Shembe to us to rekindle and restore ubuNazaretha which had been jettisoned by the gentile Christians after Jesus’s departure.

The ubuNazaretha which was rekindled by Shembe is the long period ubuNazaretha which starts when one is baptised, till he dies.

This, the prophet wrote it down in verse 11 of the Sabbath liturgy when he said:

“remember that today you have made a vow with Jehovah your god that you shall dwell in the house of Jehovah for the rest of your life.”

In that way the umnazaretha of Shembe is the nazarite for the rest of his life, and therefore touches the dead body, for it is practically not possible not to touch the co**se, but after touching it, the umnazaretha is ritually unclean till he is cleansed by the umhlambululi (cleanser) in the church. He does not enter the sanctuary before he is cleansed.

In hymn 208 of the hymns of Isaiah Shembe, the prophet says:

“rejoice, rejoice, ubuNazaretha has come; the nations will be saved, who were scattered, singing in the wilderness because of the lack of your word. Today there is no darkness, rejoice all ye nations.

Many nations who are in this world, are seen scattered, singing in rejection.

Grow, grow buNazaretha; nations are thirsty, and they want to drink from you and be fully contented with your word.”

What the prophet is saying is true, the believers have different gospels about one god, they are too scattered when it comes to the word of god:

others say Jehovah is the god of the Jews, others say we now live in the new covenant which rejects the laws of god; others say we must not keep the laws of god, for it is difficult to keep.

Others say that we no longer have sins, while others simply start their churches and choose the laws they feel applicable in their churches.

All the nations are scattered, roaming in confusion in the wilderness, they do not know where to find the truth about the word of God!

The whole world is full of darkness because they lack the true gospel of God!

The prophet then says, the nations must therefore be joyful in that the word of god contained in ubuNazaretha, has come.

At the end Shembe says,” grow, grow buNazaretha, nations are thirsty and they want to drink from you and be fully contented with your word!”

When the prophet says that the ubuNazaretha must grow, he does not mean that the church must have many people who wear white garments, or people with long hair.

He also does not mean that the amaNazaretha must be rich, having expensive cars, big house or anything of that nature. No, he is not talking about such things.

But Shembe has stated it clearly that the nations are thirsty, they are thirsty for the truth of the word of God.

Therefore, the amaNazaretha must increase the truth of the word of God throughout the world.

By preaching the truth of the word of God, the world will be fully religious, then there will be no thirst for the word of God prophet Amos in Amos 8:11-14 is talking about, when he says:

“the days are coming: declares the sovereign LORD, when I will send famine through the land- not a famine of food or thirst for water, but a famine of hearing the words of the lord.

Men will stagger from sea to sea and wander from north to east, searching for the word of the lord, but they will not find it.

In that day the lovely young women and strong young men will faint because of thirst.

They who swear by the shame of Samaria, or say, as surely as your God lives, o Dan; or, as surely as the God of Beersheba lives- they will fall, never to rise again.”

Just think how the world would be if we all keep the commandments of God he has given us, there would be no sin!

But all this will only happen if the amaNazaretha will be the ones who strive at becoming holy, as Jehovah has said he has separated them from other people to be his; the amaNazaretha should be the example of keeping the commandments of God in this world!

Amen!
