This nomadic shopping experience functions as an immersive cultural showcase, connecting guests with visionary local creators, artisans, and fashion designers from across South Africa and the continent.

Guests are invited to engage with the makers, discover emerging talent, and shop intentionally produced collection of tactile, collectable African designs.

GOOD NEIGHBOURS 2026

Affectionately known in Mozambique as the "Girl from the Neighbourhood", Assa Matusse is a singer - songwriter with an exceptional voice and a distinctive artistic identity. Her work has been featured in numerous national and international musical projects, establishing her as one of the most compelling voices of her generation.

Currently based between Maputo (Mozambique) and Paris (France), Assa has developed a rich and melodic repertoire influenced by Afrobeat, Afropop, Jazz and Soul. Her music draws inspiration from her experiences across Africa and around the world.

At the heart of her artistic expression, however, are the traditional rhythms of Mozambique, including Marrabenta, Xigubo, Mutimba, and Tufo. Assa performs in Portuguese, English, French, and Changana, her native language, through which she most authentically conveys the depth of her musicality.

Assa Matusse's career is deeply rooted in social engagement, particularly in advocating for the well-being of girls and young women.

Homie.Lover.Friend is a Johannesburg-based creative collective of audio archivists and event curators. Individually known as Phola Gumede, Qhawekazi Luthuli and Nomalungelo Molefe.

They describe themselves as a "love letter to music and community," focusing on creating safe, inclusive, and relaxing spaces where people can network, unwind, and build genuine connections - feeling less like a rigid club night and more like a vibrant family reunion.

Homie.Lover.Friend. will close the programme with a sun (set) on the main lawns at GOOD NEIGHBOURS 2026.

GOOD NEIGHBOURS 2026

Young, African, and talented, Tsholofelo is a singer-songwriter and guitarist making waves in the contemporary music scene. Born in the coastal town of Richards Bay and raised between Johannesburg and KwaZulu-Natal, her sound is as rich and diverse as her journey - drawing from indie, folk, and soul, with storytelling at its heart.

She describes her sound as eclectic - deeply personal, emotionally honest, and rooted in a genre-fluid sensibility.

A passionate creative and dedicated scholar, Tsholofelo holds a BA in Music, a BA Honours (cum laude), and a Master of Arts in Popular Music Studies from the University of KwaZulu-Natal.

Tsholofelo continues to grow her artistic and academic legacy with a voice that is both bold and honest - a boundary-defying musician whose sound imaginatively traverses genres, emotions, and lived experiences, resonating with global audiences through its depth, vulnerability, and universality.

Tsholofelo makes her debut in the NIROX amphitheatre at GOOD NEIGHBOURS 2026.

Biko’s Manna is a talented sibling trio from Johannesburg, South Africa, known for their singing, musicianship, dancing and energetic performances. They grew up in a musical family and began performing publicly at Johannesburg’s Maboneng Precinct.

Their performances combine strong vocals, sibling harmonies, guitar playing, rhythm, body percussion, dancing and an infectious stage presence.

Their versatility is arguably one of the most distinctive things about them as they don’t conform to a single genre.

Biko’s Manna will be making their debut in the NIROX amphitheatre at GOOD NEIGHBOURS 2026.

Kekeletso Mabusela (Kekelingo)
is an acclaimed South African musician, singer, drummer, and composer from Soweto, Johannesburg.
The name "Kekelingo" represents both his stage identity and a unique, spiritual dialect that he uses to write his music. Though he grew up in a multilingual home speaking Setswana and isiNdebele, he crafts his music using melodic hums, chants, and vocal expressions that transcend conventional language boundaries to communicate raw, universal human emotion.

Kekelingo joins the music programme at GOOD NEIGHBOURS 2026.

Her unique sound - affectionately known as “Zamajobism” - has established her as a distinctive voice in South African music, transcending genres while remaining rooted in the richness of South Africa’s musical heritage.

ASSEMBLED

At the heart of this exhibition is a love of wood. Curated by Gordon Froud, its seed was planted at the time of his residency (9 – 23 December 2025), when Froud continued developing a body of work on electrical pylons, which he began at the Blue Cactus Residency in Barcelona that June.

Made of semi-precious woods, these works rekindled an interest in woodworking and construction as a sculptural methodology. Cognisant that such skills are being lost to factory manufactured furniture and fittings, Froud initiated a two-week workshop with other artists and lecturers — George Holloway, Paballo Majela, Oupa Mokwena, and Simon Moshapo Jr — as well as sculpture majors from the University of Johannesburg: Olivia Bauer-Gunn, Candice Mkhize, Anele Mzolo,
Kabelo Nhlapo, Mbalenhle Sithole.

Experts from the Woodworkers’ Guild and the Gauteng Woodworking Society were invited to present practical sessions on carving, joinery, wood types and uses, machinery use, safety, and construction techniques. Each afternoon (often into the evening) participants would extend their learning through making.

The methods learnt have continued to inform the work of the artists on show. This joint exhibition serves as an opportunity to present the outcome and extended imprint of these learnings. It will be accompanied by a solo exhibition of Froud’s work in NIROX’s Covered Space in December 2026, extending his exploration of
electrical pylons in wood as sculptures.

Bongeziwe is a multi-award-winning South African singer, songwriter, and actor celebrated for his iconic blend of isiXhosa folk, soul, and electronica, a genre frequently referred to as "Xhosa soul" or Black Alternative. Singing predominantly in his native tongue, isiXhosa, Mabandla has established himself as a prominent storyteller who addresses themes of love, self-realization, and contemporary social issues.
