Our Grade R learners had so much fun dressing up as what they dream of becoming one day. It was such a joy to see their excitement and creativity, and to hear all about their big dreams for the future. 💫

Laerskool Paardekraal Internal Chess League Results. After weeks of tense play-offs and fierce competition, the Chess Champions of Paardies have officially been crowned! We are thrilled to announce the final league winners:🥇 Gold: Thabo Boloyi (Gr 7U)🥈 Silver: Itumeleng Letsholo (Gr 6B)🥉 Bronze: Amogelang Khota (Gr 6V) Heartiest congratulations to our champions and runners-up! A big thank you goes out to every learner who participated and showed true sportsmanship throughout the league.We are already looking forward to more intense battles on the chessboard in 2027!

Well done to all our Cross Country athlete!!!. We are very proud of you.

We recently received these photos from Corleen Klopper of a recipe book compiled by parents from MANY years ago.

She made a cake from the book and shared the photos.

We would love to know if anyone else still has this book and would like to share other recipes.

Here is the translated recipe:

*Orange Cake or Dessert*

Ingredients:
3 eggs
1 cup sugar
1½ cups flour
1½ teaspoons baking powder
¾ cup milk
2 tablespoons butter

Method:

1. Beat the eggs and sugar well together.
2. Sift the flour and baking powder into the egg mixture and beat well.
3. Melt the milk and butter together and add to the egg mixture.
4. Pour into a greased baking dish and bake in the oven at 180°C.
5. Once the cake is baked, prick with a fork and pour the sauce over.

Sauce:

2 cups sugar
3 tablespoons butter
1 cup water

Method for sauce:
1. Boil sugar, butter, and water together for 5 minutes.
2. Then add 1 cup orange juice and 2 tablespoons grated orange peel.
3. Pour over the cake while warm.

Mini Soccer Tournament

After a busy exam period, we decided to have some fun with the Soccer World Cup underway and in celebration of Youth Day.

We hosted an internal school “World Cup” tournament, and all our learners thoroughly enjoyed the activity.

One winning team from each class, per grade, was crowned the champion.

Congratulations to all the participants, and a heartfelt thank you to our staff members for organizing the matches! It was a great way for the learners to relax, show teamwork, and celebrate youth spirit together. Well done to everyone for making it an unforgettable experience!
