✈️🌍 CLASSROOM? NOT TODAY!

Our UniCollege Tourism students took their learning on the road on 21 August, getting a first-hand look at the world they’re preparing to work in! 🎓💙

From tourism attractions and heritage sites to hotels, conferencing and events, the day was packed with real-world learning and unforgettable experiences.

📍 First stop: Maropeng

Students explored this iconic attraction before getting an inside look during a site inspection of the Maropeng Hotel — seeing hospitality operations from a professional perspective.

🦴 Next up: Sterkfontein Caves

A fascinating guided tour gave students the opportunity to experience one of South Africa's most important heritage attractions while connecting what they’ve learned in class to the tourism industry around them.

🏨 Final stop: Avianto

Students toured the hotel, function spaces and conference facilities, gaining valuable insight into the world of accommodation, events and conferencing.

And, of course, there was plenty of fun along the way! 📸✨

Days like these show why experiential learning matters. It's one thing to learn about tourism, hospitality and events in a classroom — it's another to step into the industry and see it all in action.

🩸❤️ 43 UNITS. 43 DONATIONS. COUNTLESS LIVES IMPACTED. ❤️🩸

On 26 August, the UniCollege community rolled up their sleeves and showed just how much heart we have! 💙

We were proud to welcome the South African National Blood Service (SANBS)** to campus for another Blood Drive — and our students and staff certainly stepped up.

🙌 Together, we donated an incredible 43 units of blood!

That’s 43 opportunities to help someone in need. 43 acts of kindness. And a powerful reminder that something as simple as giving an hour of your time can make a life-changing difference.

From accident victims and surgical patients to mothers experiencing complications and people receiving critical treatment, every donation matters. 🩸

A HUGE thank you to everyone who donated, encouraged others to participate, or helped make the day a success. And of course, thank you to SANBS for the incredible work you do every day. ❤️

🐾💛 A Little Kindness Goes a Long Way.

This September, our UniCollege students are putting their compassion into action!

On 10 September, students will visit FORA – Friends of Rescued Animals – to spend time supporting animals in need and giving back to a cause close to our hearts.

We'll be collecting donations such as:

🐶 Dog food
🧣 Blankets
🧼 Pet essentials
❤️ And other much-needed supplies

It's more than a visit — it's an opportunity for our students to experience the impact of giving their time, resources, and care.

Because at UniCollege, we're not only building careers. We're building compassionate people who make a difference.
