THE FOUNDATION OF THE CHURCH

Let us continue with this interesting subject once more.


Apostolic Ministry along the way was removed from the Church by theologians who taught that it is no longer necessary after the death of the 12 apostles of Jesus Christ.

We then saw the office of the Bishop being elevated to take over the reins of the 12 apostles. This they called it "The Apostolic Succession"- (John Eckhardt)

The Apostle mantle vanished into thin air as soon as they did that.
Hence today it lacks the power it had after the Pentecost event recorded in Acts chapter 2.

I think if those theologians understood the purpose for Apostles and Prophets they wouldn'thave removed these spiritual gifts from the Church.
I mean here we talk about foundational ministries which Jesus Himself is the Chief Apostle and the Chief corner Stone (Eph 4:11)


Jesus chose only 12 out of the many disciples who followed Him. These are the ones who were given apostolic mantle to drive the ship after His ascension.

Didn't He left the Apostolic Ministry in place as a continuity and an expansion of His mission from where He had left it? Oh yes He did.

To me, for these gifts to be replaced and be removed from the Church was a serious mishap.
I really can't comprehend, how can spiritual gifts, regardless, be replaced and be removed from the Church !!!
They got it all wrong because first and foremost these two gifts - Apostle and Prophet - are
1). Spiritual Gifts (Eph 4:11)
2). Foundational Ministries (Eph 2:20) of the Church which were purposely place by God to advance His Kingdom on Earth.


To see the seriousness of this matter, when the 12 were one man down, Peter and company chose Matthias, (Acts 1:26), to take over from Judas Iscariot after he was no longer in the picture so that there is continuity . . . - TBC
