Sunset Solo at HQ

A special milestone for Pierre as he completed his first solo flight with Helivate and his first solo in the R44 after transitioning across from the R22.

While Pierre has soloed before, every new aircraft type brings its own learning curve, making this a memorable achievement and an important step forward in his training journey.
What made it even better? A beautiful sunset flight to mark the occasion.

Pierre has been pushing hard through his exams while continuing to make steady progress in the aircraft. His dedication, commitment and work ethic are shining through, and it’s exciting to see his journey unfolding.

Congratulations, Pierre! Keep the momentum going - the CPL dream is getting closer with every flight.

PPL Achieved!

From completing his first solo flight on his 16th birthday to earning his Private Pilot Licence shortly after turning 17, what an incredible achievement for Leslie.

All of this while balancing school commitments and still being a teenager. His dedication, discipline and passion for flying have been remarkable to watch.

We were fortunate enough to have Leslie around HQ every day over the last few weeks while we wrapped up the final stages of his training. Thank goodness for school holidays!

Leslie, you’ve been an absolute pleasure to have as part of the Helivate family, and we’re incredibly proud of what you’ve accomplished.

Bookkeeper & Aviation Administration Coordinator

Helivate is looking for an organised, detail-oriented individual to join our growing team.

This is far more than a traditional bookkeeping role and combines:

✅ Bookkeeping & financial administration
✅ Customer invoicing and account management
✅ Debtor follow-up and collections
✅ Payroll and statutory submissions
✅ SACAA compliance and audit support
✅ Aviation maintenance (AMO) administration and stores support
✅ General business and operational administration

The successful candidate will work across our Flight Training, Charter, Maintenance (AMO), and Aviation Adventure divisions, supporting multiple areas of the business.

Requirements:
- Proven bookkeeping experience
- Experience using QuickBooks (or similar accounting software)
- Strong administrative and organisational skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
- Aviation experience will be highly preferred

This role is ideally suited to someone who enjoys variety and is comfortable working across finance, aviation administration, compliance, maintenance support, and regulatory oversight.

From fixed wing to fling wing. 🚁

Amish Rajkumar started with us at the beginning of the year and when he had only 2 hours of helicopter time, he already wanted in on the first trip — the Wild Coast Epic.

Safe to say, there’s been no holding him back since. Another expedition completed, countless memories made, and now officially SOLO.

Big things ahead for this guy.
