Ek gaan nie name noem nie want hierdie is privaat dinge, maar ek weet as sy dit lees, sal sy weet dit gaan oor haar. Toe ons die biopsy uitslae gekry het, was ek by haar. Toe sy in die kar klim, het ek ged**k dis negatief want sy is kalm en versamel... Toe fluister sy, dit is positief. Ek kon dit nie glo nie. Trane het in my oë geswel, sy het my gevra om nie te huil nie. Rustig het sy gefluister: "God is met my"! Hoe dapper is jy, my gunsteling vegter. Ek sal altyd lief wees vir jou! Beslis, in die moeilikste oomblikke is dit dat jy weet wie jou regte vriende is of die mense wat jou opreg waardeer. Ongelukkig verlaat die meeste vriende jou, en stuur net vir jou " goeie vibrasies," maar by verre... Ek het besluit om hierdie boodskap te plaas ter ondersteuning van 'n baie spesiale persoon vir my wat stewig en goeie energie gestry het. Het my geleer om elke dag as die beste dag te leef! Nou kyk ek na die wat tyd sal hê om hierdie post te lees tot die einde. Dit is 'n klein toets, net om te sien wie dit lees en deel! As jy alles lees, kies "like" sodat ek 'n dankie op jou profiel kan sit. Kanker is baie indringend en vernietigend vir ons liggaam. Selfs nadat sy behandeling voltooi het, gaan haar liggaam voort om met haarself te veg om al die skade wat veroorsaak word deur bestraling en chemoterapie te herbou. Dit is 'n baie lang proses. Asseblief ter ere van iemand wat gesterf het of kanker veg, of selfs kanker gehad het, maar genees is; "copy en paste"! Almal sê," as jy iets nodig het, moenie daaraan twyfel nie, ek sal daar wees vir jou. "So ek gaan 'n uitdaging maak, ek d**k minder as die helfte van my vriende sal dit op hulle wall sit. Jy moet net "copy en paste" (nie share nie). Ek wil weet op wie ek kan reken. Sodra jy doen, skryf "klaar" in die kommentaar.

A dreaded, yet inevitable crisis has hit our sanctuary

Over the past 12 years of Ridgeback Rehab, my own personal vehicle has been the sole mode of transportation. Translating to getting, now hundreds, of ridgebacks to vets, meets and greets, procurement of food and other needs. Activities wholly unsuited to a small 20 year old hatchback.

Predictably, although sadly she has run into expensive breakdowns, the latest being insurmountable, and we are stranded.

Such a small vehicle also means that vet visits are completely uneconomical, being unable to place many of the dogs together in a small space. It also poses dangers, since we cannot crate the dogs, their movements are unrestricted and jumping onto the driver is a frequent occurrence.

Over the past few years with increased breakdowns and repairs serving to compound the stress that 24/7 unpaid care of the dogs brings. Our trusted mechanic has quoted R30,000.00 to replace the engine. Whilst this may certainly get it back on the road, it does not address the medium to long term needs, and it certainly does not take big loads into consideration, that can accommodate large crates to facilitate the transportation of several dogs, thus slashing the travel time and expense.

Having explored several options, we have been able to locate second hand vehicles with semi to low mileage, that would be far better suited, ranging between R70-R150k.

A monumental undertaking that we have been investigating as many ways as we can to somehow raise these funds, and continue to provide for the orphans who depend on us.

We have seen and heard how they helped many animal shelters with large sums of money. Sadly we have waited in vain to hear from them, and the conclusion can only be that they simply do not have enough persons championing for us, as many of the other shelters do.

Perhaps you know of someone who is either leaving the country, or for some reason has a used work vehicle/larger panel van they would like to sell privately, or better yet donate to this cause. It may be that you have an uncle in the vehicle business also in a position to provide something on similar terms. Sadly NPO’s do not qualify for bonds or hire purchases, and we really cannot afford to burden our limited resources any further.

Storms kom in ons lewens in baie verskillende vorme - verhoudingsuitdagings, ekonomiese rampe, siekte, verlies, hartseer of pyn. Daar kan storms van lyding, verraad en teleurstelling wees.

Een telefoonoproep, een fout, een woord, een doktersbesoek, en skielik is jy in die middel van 'n storm wat jy nooit sien aankom het nie.

Stormteologie is wat jy van Abba Vader glo wanneer sulke dinge gebeur. Hulle openbaar wat binne jou is. Of jy uit vrees of geloof leef. Of jy nou Abba Vader vertrou of jou geloof in iemand of iets anders stel.

Wanneer alles reg verloop, is dit maklik om te sê: "Ek glo dat Abba Vader goed is." Maar storms wys of daardie oortuiging werklik is.

Wees dus vandag bemoedig. Hou moed. Of jy nou in 'n storm is of aan die ander kant van een, verbind jouself weer om te glo Abba Vader is wie Hy sê Hy is en sal doen wat Hy gesê het Hy sal doen.

This is too good not to share. I asked a friend who has crossed 70 & is heading towards 80 what sort of changes he is feeling in himself? He sent me the following:
1. After loving my parents, my siblings, my spouse, my children and my friends, I have now started loving myself.
2. I have realized that I am not “Atlas”. The world does not rest on my shoulders.
3. I have stopped bargaining with vegetable & fruit vendors. A few pennies more is not going to break me, but it might help the poor fellow save for his daughter’s school fees.
4. I leave my waitress a big tip. The extra money might bring a smile to her face. She is toiling much harder for a living than I am.
5. I stopped telling the elderly that they've already told that story many times. The story makes them walk down memory lane & relive their past.
6. I have learned not to correct people even when I know they are wrong. The onus of making everyone perfect is not on me. Peace is more precious than perfection.
7. I give compliments freely & generously. Compliments are a mood enhancer not only for the recipient, but also for me. And a small tip for the recipient of a compliment, never, NEVER turn it down, just say "Thank You.”
8. I have learned not to bother about a crease or a spot on my shirt. Personality speaks louder than appearances.
9. I walk away from people who don't value me. They might not know my worth, but I do.
10. I remain cool when someone plays dirty to outrun me in the rat race. I am not a rat & neither am I in any race.
11. I am learning not to be embarrassed by my emotions. It’s my emotions that make me human.
12. I have learned that it's better to drop the ego than to break a relationship. My ego will keep me aloof, whereas with relationships, I will never be alone.
13. I have learned to live each day as if it's the last. After all, it might be the last.
14. I am doing what makes me happy. I am responsible for my happiness, and I owe it to myself. Happiness is a choice. You can be happy at any time, just choose to be!
I decided to share this for all my friends. Why do we have to wait to be 60 or 70 or 80, why can't we practice this at any stage and age?

Abba Father thank You that we can wake up this morning with the knowledge that irrespective of all that is happening around us and the uncertainty of this world we are just journey through and we on our way home. Home to You, home with our redeemer Jesus Christ of Nazareth. A home where there will be no tears, and we will met face to face with our Saviour.
OH what a day of rejoicing that will be when we all see Jesus and know He has set us free.
Abba Father may we continue praying for those who have black slided and have gone of the path, may we continue praying for our families who know better and have many excuses why they not serving You. Abba we Shack these bindings if over them and we Shack them awake because the time is sort.
Yes Abba Father the time is short and Jesus says only You know the time and the moment He will return, therefore I pray that we will be watching and waiting, with enough oil in our lamps. And joy in our heart for that moment we meet Him in the sky. Amein

When we are raising a family, working long hours, some two jobs, lots of things go unnoticed or just get ignored. No one can comprehend how bad it will be, but we see it happening, bit by bit, on the news everyday. While the devil is preparing people for the Anti Christ, God is preparing people for the Rapture. I don’t know when the rapture will take place but I know that I’m not planning to be left behind when that trumpet sounds! I also believe right now that God is giving us a chance to turn our lives around and live according to His will. We need to get the Gospel message out! Until the good Lord calls me away from this world to go home, I want to make it clear that I believe in Jesus Christ as the one and only true Lord and Savior. Despite the fact that I am human, and I fail a lot, I believe that Jesus is God!
