Who says Science is not fun? On Saturday Me Van der Merwe and her Gr 11 Science learners visited Sci Bono in Johannesburg. It was so much fun. Thank you Me Van der Merwe for creating the opportunity for the learners.

This weekend teachers and learners were distributing marketing pamphlets at different places in town again. It is exciting to meet people and we would love to talk to you when you see us. Be on the look out for us again next Saturday.

As the only school in town that presents Sports Science as a subject we are extremely interested in what our learners gain when studying all about the science of movement, sport and sport nutrition. As part of a practical assignment in sports nutrition, the learners had to prepare a nutritious meal for a professional sportsman/woman. Calculations on amount of carbohydrates, fats, vitamins and so much more needed to be taken into consideration. And then it also smelled divine. Who says eating healthy is difficult.

There is a buzz in the halls at the Foundation phase. The Grade 2 learners were taught how to read time and they could make their own analogue watches. What a way to make Mathematics more fun and practical. Our Grade 3 learners were practicing their language skills and what better way to do it by talking to your friend over the telephone. It is great fun to learn important skills through practical application.

Our two learners, Unathi Nhlapho and Phumla Majavu went to support the Junior Station Commander for Kroonstad at the Public Speaking competition in Viljoenskroon on Saturday. The Junior Station Commander won the competition and will be representing the Fezile Dabi district at the Provincial competition
