While we are celebrating Heritage day officially today, our Grade 11 learners took the initiative to celebrate it formally at the high school on Tuesday 22 September. It was a wonderful day of laughter, song and dance, remembering our heritage. We are proud to have young people still celebrating culture.

And with this, we also wish all of our Notre Dame St Peter's Family a wonderful Heritage Day.

This morning we had the pleasure of hosting Bishop Amos Mabuti Masemola of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Kroonstad at our school for a meet and greet with the staff.

We are grateful for the Bishop’s time, wisdom and pastoral presence among us. May God continue to guide and strengthen him as he shepherds our school and diocese.

The staff was surprised by the St Julie club by recognising the hard work that goes into marking test- and exam scripts and recording and reporting on these marks. It was heart-warming to feel appreciated. Thank you Gr 7 girls of St Julie club for giving the staff a moral boost in the middle of exam and test series.

We want to convey our immense appreciation to Compu King as our Internet Service Provider who sponsored our Staff Shirts. We feel snazzy in them and are truly recognisable as staff of Notre Dame St Peter's School.

Today was a very special day at our school. Our dearest Sr Marie celebrated her 87th birthday. We are so blessed to have her in our midst as a presence from the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur. We want to congratulate her on this special day, and we pray that she will be with us for even more years. May God's good graces be with you through this new year. Happy Birthday from everybody that is part of the Notre Dame St Peter's School community.

We were blessed to receive the Gideons as guests at the school. The Gideons' mission is to spread the Evangelic news all over the world, by reaching out to groups of people and spreading the Word of our Lord by providing Bibles to these groups, leaving Bibles in places like hospitals. Every year they visit the school to meet the Grade 8 group. A blessed message was given to the learners and a prayer to bless them for the rest of the year. Each of them received a small Bible. We are privileged to have a close relationship with the organisation.

We are inviting all prospective learners who want to enroll in Notre Dame St Peter's School in 2027 to make use of the opportunity to write the aptitude test for admission to the school. The language for teaching and learning at the school is English and the test will determine if the learner will be able to progress academically.

On Saturday the prospective High School prefects for 2027 had a workshop. They were having lectures on what it entails to be a leader, how Christians act as leaders and what is expected of a leader in Notre Dame St Peter's High School. They also had some team building activities which they thoroughly enjoyed.
Thank you Ms Lume v/d Merwe and your team for the time you spend with them. We are sure we can trust any of these bright young people, to be taking the reigns for 2027 in the High School.
