Friday with improved weather conditions saw our latest group of French visitors to Komati Care Centre'.
A first for us as twin sisters visited with there families. ValΓ©rie with her husband Fred & sons Lubin and Robin together with Valeries sister Christine & her daughters Benjamine and Berenice. Lubin I believe at 196cm is also our tallest visitor todate & he is still growing! Of course he plays basketball πŸ€
Another fun time was had with the children.
We thank the family for the support & wish them safe onward travels.

The cold front and persistent rain coupled to very muddy roads did not dampen the spirits of our latest French visitors to Komati Care Centre.

Celine & Cedric together with their children Lyam, Abby and Vicky along with Anais who is Lyams girlfriend spent an enjoyable morning interacting with the staff and children of KCC. The inclement weather meant we only had a small number of children at school. But those there had a great time.

We thank the family for the visit and there donations supporting the centre. We wish them safe onward travels as they continue to explore South Africa.

Thursday saw the children & members of staff of KCC attend an event in Komatipoort, commemorating the 100th birthday of the Kruger National Park. The event was held at the Komatipoort Academy rugby field.
The Kruger National Park was represented by local sector rangers, and a canine demonstration was performed by the Park's canine division.
An enjoyable time was had with our children looking very smart in there green shirts. KCC was one of a number of schools in attendance.
We thank the organizers for inviting KCC to attend.

Good morning friends of KCC

Is there anyone from the Komatipoort region who is traveling to Nelspruit tomorrow.

There is a young man in Orlando who needs to get to Rob Ferreira Hospital for a operation for a broken leg.

If anyone could assist it would be appreciated.

Thank you
Mike

Those who saw my earlier post will know that for this year's Mandela day celebration event we set ourselves the challenge of serving 670 hotdogs in 67 minutes to the people of Orlando where both Komati Care & Ingiphile Educare Centre's are situated.

Well this morning in extremely warm winter weather (32Β°) We smashed our target handing out 720 dogs in 33 minutes at our 4 serving stations. Each roll was accompanied by a juice. In real time terms thats a serving every 3 seconds!

Fantastic team work from the staff of Needles Lodge, our volunteers & the team from Komati Care Centre.

Again a huge thank you to Denis & Needles Lodge for the initiative & full sponsorship of the event. An added bonus to KCC was Needles donating the two large cooking pots which had been purchased for the event to our center πŸ˜ƒ

We are already planning next year's event πŸŒ„

Saturday 18th July will see KCC along with Ingiphile & Friends Educare Center and Givers of Hope SA honor the legacy of Nelson Mandela in a unique way.
The event is an initiative of Needles Lodge from Marloth Park who are financial supporters of KCC and are funding the event. A big thank you to Denis & the team.
670 hot dogs in 67 minutes will be a tall order but we will definitely be in for a fun morning.
Will post photos after the event.
