"From Zimbabwe to Knysna: Michael Nyoni & Kelvin Mthombeni's Mahogany Horse Head Sculpture – A Journey of Collaboration & Craftsmanship. Started in Zimbabwe, the piece is nearing completion in Knysna (not the final product).

My recent trip to Namibia had an opportunity to meet and learn from Ovahimba people an indigenous tribe in Namibia, known for their rich cultural heritage and traditional way of life. They are semi-nomadic pastoralists who have maintained their unique customs and practices despite modernization. The Ovahimba are skilled craftsmen and women, and their traditional attire, adorned with intricate jewelry and ornaments, is a testament to their cultural identity.

I'm still on a high from working on our latest sculpture, a majestic wooden lion, with my brothers Kelvin Mthombeni and Thulisani Sibanda 🌟👏. We poured our hearts into this piece, and I'm obsessed with the way it turned out 💥. This isn't a miniature masterpiece - our lion stands proud, roughly the size of a pit bull 🐕💪!
