Quick Question: How have you been feeling lately?

If great, that is great! If not great, that's ok, because...intsead of choosing to spiral down that hideous emotion as a VICTIM, you can CHOOSE another option. Stay with me. The overcomer-mentality chooses to NOT blame-shift, to NOT take it personally and to say I AM RESPONSIBLE. No, not responsible for the event that resulted in the downward spiral; but yes responsible to CHOOSE how to REACT to the event. By tuning in to SELF-TALK and replacing the negative lies we so often tell ourselves, we can be overcomers and FREE!

So, grab a pen and paper and write down the phrases of self-talk you have in your head. Tune in tomorrow and I'll take you to the next step of getting free of those hideous emotions. Until then, be aware of your emotions. and prepare to SHIFT!

Pause for a few minutes...
Can you identify how you are feeling right now? Is that how you want to feel?
Guess what? Great news! If you are feeling great. Then great! But It's YOUR CHOICE whether you spiral down into that feeling that is horrible; or even unbearable. YOU can choose to change this horrible feeling. It's your choice whether you want to stay feeling like a victim. It's your choice to feel the freedom of being released from that horrible emotion. How?
1.) DON'T take it personally. Take it from whence it came. Other people are cracked mirrors. Don't see yourself through their cracks!
2.) CHANGE YOUR PERSPECTIVE. This too will pass. Learn forgiveness - of your own mistakes; and others' failings.
3.) FIND a healthy distraction. Not a substance escape. That's the action of a victim. An overcomer, who chooses freedom, finds a meaningful, healthy distraction. Get creative.
4.) MOST IMPORTANTLY: SHIFT! Listen to your self-talk! Now SHIFT! Replace those lies with the truth. Coach yourself the truth:
- I have great value.
- I am loved and I am lovable.
- I choose forgiveness - of myself and others.
- I have purpose. I need to pursue that.
- Now, say SHIFT. Now shout SHIFT!! Now shout loudly: SHIFT!!!
- Now walk it out. Live it out....minute, hour and day by day.....
