Specialized Learning Faculty is a niche faculty where students of all ages are taught how to learn.

Students are sent for 12 years to school and then required to study further at college or university without equipping them with the right tools on how to study.

The founder of the Specialized Learning Faculty has done international courses on studying and will shortly commence his master degree in Teaching and Learning methods. He has helped numerous students of all ages with study methods and made them understand that studying is a privilege, not a burden.

About Full Time High School Faculty

The high-school division of the Specialized Learning Faculty (boys only), is where boys study and learn in order to obtain good grade 12 grades. We trust that some of our students will obtain distinctions in most of their subjects as a result of their focused and effective studying at our faculty.

High School Students
The Specialized Learning Faculty makes use of a wide variety of teaching and study techniques to assist students to learn and understand their work in order to APPLY this knowledge.
This includes but is not just limited to:
Directional teaching, Traditional Classes with lots of interactive activity between facilitator and students, Collaboration, Peer Teaching, Group Work, Debating, Essay writing, Reading, Demonstrations, Experiments, Concept Checking in a variety of ways including discussions, tests, assessments, exams, student presentations and “the student as the teacher”.
The faculty is a niche small highly individual faculty which ensures that each student reaches their optimal peak. We have a wide variety of students from very academic students to not so academic students. Our students write the external international Cambridge exams which will give them international recognition. There is also the option for students to do the GED exams if they purely want a grade 12 equivalent. The latter is not the ideal for students that wish to follow an academic career.

The founder of the faculty, Michiel Coetzee, is an exceptionally motivated driver who knows how to get the best out of each student. He is also the founder of the highly successful Knysna English School and Teach English Overseas which teach Students How to use TEFL and other methodology methods to ensure fun in the class. Knysna English School trained more than 500 teachers over the last 2 years that are teaching abroad or on online platforms. He has international ties on different continents and believes that international networking and inter-continental relationships are important to ensure best-practice teaching methods and learning styles which are applied at the SLF. This also gives SLF students the opportunity to inter-communicate with these international schools and business partners to optimize opportunities for SLF students.

LEARN ABOUT HIGH-VALUES AND GOOD MORALS AND THE IMPORTANCE HEREOF IN TODAYS WORLD;
MANY MORE LIFE-SKILLS, SELF-DEVELOPMENT, AND COGNITIVE ABILITIES ARE LEARNED AND EXPERIENCED.

We encourage our students to read a book in both their first and second languages.

Some students coming over to us for the first time never have read a complete book before in their lives.

Help us to educate the youth! Inspire them to read, please!!

Writing tests weekly to ensure students are on track with their academic work.

Busy setting up an internet based reporting system for parents to keep track of student marks. Students have to get 85% prior to proceeding to new work otherwise revision needs to be done and tests rewritten.
