We extend our heartfelt gratitude to a truly special and compassionate mum for her generous donation of 12 boxes of Easter eggs to our learners.

In a beautiful tribute to her beloved son, whom she sadly lost to cancer, she chose to celebrate his birthday by spreading joy and kindness to others. Because of her selfless gesture, every child received an Easter egg, and the smiles and happiness shared among our learners were truly priceless.

Your strength, love, and generosity have touched our entire school community in a deeply meaningful way. Thank you for turning your pain into purpose and for reminding us all of the power of kindness and giving.

Your kindness and support are truly appreciated. The shoes have been thoughtfully distributed to learners in need, and your contribution has made a meaningful difference in their daily school experience.

Today, we say a heartfelt farewell to two very special members of our Gillitts Primary School family, Aunty Seema and Aunty Mbedu. 💛

For many years, you have lovingly served our school community with dedication, warmth, and kindness. The kitchen was not just a place where meals were prepared — it was a space filled with care, laughter, and the comforting presence you both brought every single day.

You have built such a beautiful and unique relationship with our staff and learners, touching countless lives in ways that will never be forgotten. Your smiles, gentle words, and nurturing spirits have made a lasting impact on our school.

Gillitts Primary School will miss you both tremendously, but we are so grateful for the years we were blessed to have you with us.

May this next chapter of your journey be filled with rest, joy, and all the happiness you truly deserve.

What a wonderful way to end off the term! Today, our learners enjoyed a special Easter program, arriving in civvies and gathering for a short but meaningful assembly before heading off for the holidays.

One of the highlights of the day was our Fancy Hat Competition — we were absolutely blown away by the creativity and effort put into the beautiful masterpieces on display! 🎩✨

Our learners were also treated to delicious Easter eggs, generously sponsored by:

What an incredible day we had at our School Fun Day! 🎉✨

Our learners had an absolute blast enjoying the exciting inflatables provided by Rainbow Inflatables – the laughter and joy throughout the day truly said it all!

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our generous sponsors: Checkers KZN, F.G Knights, Spring Meadow, and Sir Juice. Your support played a huge role in making this event such a success.

A special thank you as well to all our amazing parents who contributed items for sale at our Tuckshop – your kindness and support never go unnoticed. 💛

To all the parents who encouraged their children to participate and be part of the fun, we truly appreciate your involvement and enthusiasm.

We are proud to reflect on our Prefect Induction Ceremony held in February 2026, where a remarkable group of learners were officially entrusted with leadership responsibilities within our school.

These prefects were carefully selected based on their exemplary leadership skills, commitment, and the respect they consistently demonstrate towards the school, its values, and its environment. Their dedication sets a positive example for their peers and upholds the standards of our institution.

The induction was conducted by our Prefect Mistress, Mrs. S.M. Gani, who formally swore in the prefects through a meaningful oath, marking the beginning of their journey as student leaders.

We are especially proud to announce that the Head Prefect for 2026 is Ayabonga Maphumulo. We are confident that under this leadership, our prefect body will continue to thrive and make a positive impact.

Congratulations to all our prefects. We wish you strength and success in your roles. Keep up the excellent work!

Spellathon was conducted during the course of term 1. This is a fundraising initiative, as well as a method of testing learners spelling skills.

The following learners raised the highest funds:
1st - Uyanda Msomi [Grade 4]

Good day parents, I trust you are well.

Please note that our fun day will be held on Wednesday, 25th March 2026 at the cost of only R100 per learner. This cost will include unlimited access to the inflatables and games.

Please ensure that your child carries the following in a bag:
1. A towel
2. A change of clothes
3. Enough spending money to spend at the Tuckshop, and for other fun activities such as dunking a teacher and Henna (Temporary tattoo)

We will be accepting money right up until the morning of the fun day.

Please support this initiative as the funds raised go towards the betterment of our school, which in result, benefits your child.

We are also seeking sponsorships especially for these items:
Henna
Popsicles
Chips
Lollipops
Paper cups.

Please assist us in whichever way possible.

Our teachers were delighted to welcome learners back and reconnect in warm, happy classrooms.
