Kloof High Athletics Shines at Provincial Championships!

Our athletes produced a fantastic display of determination, talent, and commitment at the KZNCSSA Provincial Track and Field Championships at Msunduzi Stadium in Pietermaritzburg!

A total of 12 Kloof High athletes competed across various disciplines, representing our school with tremendous pride. With several top-eight finishes and 6 athletes earning KZN team selection, we couldn't be prouder!

An incredible weekend for the Kloof High School Girls 1st Team, taking home the prestigious Midlands Cup in a 16-team tournament!

From the opening game to the final whistle, the standard of football was exceptionally high. The girls showed immense belief, discipline, and unityโ€”playing not as individuals, but as a team. Defensively, offensively, physically, and mentally, every single player gave 200%.

The final was a tense arm-wrestle against a well-drilled Howick side. An early goal settled the nerves, and through outstanding defensive organisation and sheer grit, Kloof held firm to secure a hard-fought 1โ€“0 victory.

Across the tournament, Kloof scored 18 goals and conceded just 2, showing remarkable consistency and balance.

A special mention to Bella Howard and Issabelle Hall, who were both selected for the Midlands Cup Tournament Team for their standout performances!

This victory reflects the commitment, sacrifice, and togetherness of this squad. Up the Kloof!

Huge news for the Kloof High family!

We are beaming with pride as Kloof alumnus and 2023 Deputy Head Boy Uyanda Fikizolo made his 1st professional debut for the Pumas U21 squad this past weekend!

Uyanda is currently studying exercise science at the Pumas Rugby Institute and will be completing his diploma at the end of this year. We are so incredibly proud of everything he has accomplished both on the field and in his studies, and we cannot wait to watch him take this next big step.

What an inspiring day for our Eco Club!

We were thrilled to host Jacqui Gray from the Raptor Centre for a fascinating, hands-on session with our learners. It was an extra-special visit, as Jacquiโ€™s daughter, Christina MacLeod, is one of our very own Kloof High School students!

From exploring career paths in conservation to meeting incredible feathered guests, there was so much to learn:

Conservation needs EVERY skill: whether you're into biology, coding (tracking device apps!), marketing, medicine, ecotourism, or educationโ€”thereโ€™s a vital place for you in wildlife protection.

Meet Lucy & Barry: We got to meet Lucy, a leucistic spotted eagle-owl whose rare sex-linked "blonde" colouring means she can't be released into the wild, as well as Barry, the African wood owl held by Christina!

Owl Myth-Busting:
๐Ÿฆ‰Are they super smart? Actually, their huge eyes leave very little room for brain space!
๐Ÿฆ‰360-degree neck turn? Not quiteโ€”they turn up to 270 degrees thanks to 14 neck vertebrae (we only have 7!).
