From NWSD graduate to founder of her own growing fashion brand. ✨

Puseletso Lesao graduated in 2019 after winning both the Bridal Challenge and 3D Challenge in her final year. Today, she is building MerenciousWear into a brand that creates garments for life’s special moments.

What the bursary includes:
🎓 A full 3-year Fashion Design tuition at NWSD, valued at R200,000
💻 A laptop, sponsored by Gert-Johan Coetzee Studios
🧵 A Bernina sewing machine, valued at R14,000
👗 Two annual internship opportunities at Gert-Johan Coetzee Studios

How to apply:

Calling all North West-based emerging fashion designers! ✨

Here’s your opportunity to take your Ready-to-Wear collection from concept to catwalk!

10 emerging designers will be selected to attend a fully funded workshop on 21 & 22 September 2026, focusing on developing, refining and presenting a Ready-to-Wear collection. Food and accommodation are included.

Following the workshop, up to 5 designers will be selected to develop a collection to showcase at the 2026 Platinum Fashion Festival on 14 November. ✨
