👨‍🍳Banana Oat Cookies👩‍🍳

There's something so special about baking together. 🍌🍪

On the last day of term, our little chefs mixed, poured, stirred, and scooped as we made healthy banana, oat, and raisin cookies. Baking is such a wonderful hands-on learning experience, developing fine motor skills, early maths concepts, language, patience, and confidence—all while having so much fun!

A sweet way to end the term. 💛

Wishing all our Little Footprints families a safe, happy, and restful holiday. We can't wait to welcome everyone back next term for more adventures together! 🌿

A week filled with LOVE at Little Footprints ❤️

We spent time talking about kindness, sharing and what it means to be a loving friend. Although I didn’t capture our beautiful classroom agreement conversations on camera, the children came up with such special ideas — hugging (when wanted), kind words, sharing and listening to one another 💛

This week included:
• Friendship bangle making
• Heart colour sorting
• Red-themed sensory play
• Baking & icing heart cookies for our families
• Making cards for Mom and Dad

And of course… plenty of bug discoveries in between 🐞🌿

🍕 Pizza-making day!🍕
Making pizzas together was such a hit last week! The children loved grating cheese, spreading sauce, and adding their own toppings.

Cooking activities like this support so many areas of development — practising turn-taking, following simple instructions, strengthening fine motor skills, and building confidence and independence. It also creates space for conversation, cooperation, and joyful learning through play.

And of course… the best part was eating our delicious creations together! ❤️

🌿At Little Footprints 🌿
We honour each child exactly where they are.
There is no rushing here.

Some children need time to settle — and that’s okay. Parents or nannies are welcome to join until we all feel a child is ready. Trust and safety come first.

Our days are led by play, movement, and choice. Children are free to explore, to move between spaces, and to follow what calls to them — while gently learning classroom agreements, respect for one another, and simple routines that bring rhythm to the day.

We believe boundaries should be few, clear, and meaningful — mostly around safety — so that children have the freedom to discover who they are, how they feel, and what they love.

Above all, Little Footprints is a space where children feel safe, seen, and deeply loved 🤍
From there, everything else grows.

✨ Happy to Be Back ✨
Today our hands explored the beach 🐚
sand between fingers, shells pressed into glue,
paint turning thoughts into textures and memories 🎨
We built towers and solved puzzles 🧩
dug deep in the sandpit and climbed towards the sky 🌤️
We ran, jumped, swung, and laughed until our cheeks were warm ☀️
We shared meals and stories 🍎
cooked pretend dinners and tucked dolls in gently 🧸
We read together, drew our worlds ✏️
became moms, dads, builders, explorers — and riders on tiny bikes 🚲
Every day, we play 🌿
Every day, we grow friendships, confidence, and curious minds 🤍
Every day, we are learning —
just as children should ✨

✨️💛Grandparents Day at Little Footprints 💛✨

My only “rule” for the morning was simple: feel like a child again and play — and our wonderful grandparents absolutely delivered!

From sandy toes in the sandpit, to painting and building, to dough-moulding and sweet moments of role play… the joy, laughter, and connection were truly beautiful to witness. 🌿💛

Thank you to all our amazing grandparents for making the effort to join us and for embracing the magic of play with your grandchildren. Days like these remind us how special it is to slow down, connect, and see the world through a child’s eyes again.

We loved every moment! 🧡👵👴🌼

✨ Sensory play made simple! ✨
Here are a few easy sensory tray ideas you can try at home — from cutting and scooping to sorting, pouring, and exploring textures. Sensory play helps children develop fine-motor skills, problem-solving, focus, and early maths and language concepts — all while having fun!

The possibilities are endless when little hands get busy exploring. 🌿💛

Which one would your child enjoy most? Would you like me to share more easy setup ideas like these? 👇
