๐ Sound ON! The Grade R Orchestra has Arrived! ๐ฌ๐ถ
โWe had an absolute whirlwind of a week in Grade R! Between all of our big thinking and hardworking classroom moments, we squeezed in some seriously fun sensory magic. Turn up your volume for a little sneak peek at one of last week's favorite highlights: exploring our Sense of Sound! ๐โจ
โPress play to see our creative little rockstars shaking things up! โป๏ธ๐จ
โOur lesson started with listening closely to the exciting pop-pop-pop of fresh popcorn kernels, followed by a delicious snack. Then, the real creativity began! Our learners used the leftover kernels, empty toilet rolls, paper, and tape to craft their very own musical instruments. Didn't they do an amazing job?
โ๐ก The Secret Science Behind the Noise... ๐
โIt looks like pure, noisy fun, but this activity is actually building giant brainpower:
โFuture Readers: Tuning into different rhythms and popping sounds trains their ears to easily pick up distinct letter sounds when reading time comes.
โMini Scientists: Figuring out how to make a "gentle whisper shake" versus a "thunderstorm shake" is a brilliant lesson in cause-and-effect!
โSuper Focus: Training their brains to listen out for specific sounds helps them learn to block out background distractions and focus beautifully on lessons.
โWe love making learning an adventure they can feel, hear, and create. Drop a โค๏ธ below for our amazing little musicians! ๐๐ฅ๐

โ๏ธ Step Away from the Screens and Into the Sunshine! ๐ชต๐โโ๏ธ
โEver wonder what our little ones are up to during outdoor playtime at Noah's Ark Playschool? It turns out that those mud pies, tag games, and playground adventures arenโt just funโthey are building brilliant minds and strong bodies!
โHere is a quick peek at the superpowers our children are developing every single day on the playground:
โ๐ง Brain Power & Creativity: Nature is the ultimate open-ended classroom. Whether our kids are building in the sandpit, inventing imaginary worlds, or exploring, they are sharpening their problem-solving skills.
โ๐ช Strong, Active Bodies: Running, jumping, and balancing help develop vital gross motor skills, coordination, and physical fitness.
โ๐ฑ Happy Minds & Focused Hearts: Fresh air and open space do wonders for little ones. Outdoor play naturally lowers stress levels, boosts moods, and helps children focus better when they return to the classroom.
โ๐ค Beautiful Social Skills: The playground is where the magic happens! Our children learn to share, take turns, communicate, and forge those precious lifelong friendships.
โAt Noah's Ark Playschool, we make outdoor play a priority because we know that happy, active children are thriving learners! ๐โจ

Yesterday belonged to the women who build the foundation of our community. ๐ธโจ
โWe are reflecting today on the incredible mothers, grandmothers, and aunts who support our school. ๐ซ๐ You are the women who carry, protect, and love these children long before they ever step into a classroom. ๐๏ธ๐ฟ
โAs the image says, you are civilizationโs last line of defense. ๐ก๏ธ๐ช Thank you for teaching the next generation strength without cruelty and love without weakness. ๐โค๏ธ We hope your day was as beautiful as the impact you make! ๐๐
Not by the hair of our chinny-chin-chins! ๐ท
โOur little performers are getting ready for the Mother's and Father's Day concert. It's going to be a "pig" deal! Check out these behind-the-scenes snaps of our latest props. Can you guess the theme of our play? ๐งฑ๐พ
๐ Crossing the Midline: Small Moves, Big Learning ๐
When children throw a bean bag from the right hand across to the left side and then switch sides, draw a big rainbow arc, thread beads, or roll a ball around their tummy and back again, theyโre practicing crossing the midline, moving across the invisible line that divides the body into left and right halves.
๐ก Why it matters:
- ๐ง โจ Builds strong brain connections for focus, memory, and problemโsolving
- ๐๐ Prepares eyes and hands for smooth reading and writing
- ๐จ๐ช Strengthens fine motor skills for everyday independence
- โฝ๐ถ Boosts balance, rhythm, and confidence in play
- ๐๐ธ Supports calm, organized thinking and emotional regulation
โจ How these activities help:
- ๐ฏ Bean bag throws across the body โ build coordination between both sides of the body and prepare children for active play and sports.
- ๐ Drawing big rainbow arcs โ strengthen eyeโhand coordination and smooth tracking, laying the groundwork for reading and writing.
- ๐งต๐ Threading beads โ sharpen fine motor skills and focus, supporting everyday independence like buttoning or cutting.
- โฝ๐คน Rolling a ball around the tummy โ develop rhythm, bilateral coordination, and body awareness through playful movement.
๐ธ Each of these joyful movements is wiring your childโs brain for success. Little actions today lead to big leaps in learning, independence, and confidence ๐๐.

๐ Why Storytime Is Pure Magic for Little Minds ๐
๐Storytime - The Heartbeat of Early Learning ๐
To little ones, storytime feels like a cozy moment of listening to a book. But behind those giggles and wide eyes, something extraordinary is happening ๐โฆ
๐ Language blossoms โ every new word, sound, and sentence helps children speak more clearly and confidently.
๐ง Brains grow stronger โ memory, attention, and sequencing skills are built with every beginning, middle, and end.
โค๏ธ Imagination takes flight โ magical worlds spark creativity and selfโexpression.
๐ Patience and focus grow โ listening to a story teaches concentration, an essential skill for school readiness.
๐ Feelings are explored โ kindness, sharing, friendship, and empathy come alive through characters.
๐ค Bonds are built โ storytime is a warm, comforting moment that strengthens trust between children and adults.
๐ A love for books begins โ children who enjoy storytime are more likely to carry a lifelong passion for reading.
โจ Even short, interactive storiesโpointing at pictures, asking questions, repeating fun phrasesโmake a BIG difference.
Storytime isnโt just about readingโฆ itโs about learning, growing, and connecting ๐ Parents, every bedtime story or classroom tale is a gift that shapes your childโs heart and mind for years to come. ๐
