💧 Controlling the slow release of titrant using the stopcock for accurate results.
🔄 Applying constant swirling techniques to ensure proper mixing of reagents.
🎨 Detecting the endpoint through indicator colour changes.
📊 Recording data carefully, including initial and final burette readings and titre volumes.
📐 Performing concentration calculations to determine unknown solution concentrations.
✅ Repeating trials to obtain concordant results and ensure precision.
🛡️ Practising safe chemical handling through the proper use of lab coats, goggles, gloves, and laboratory protocols.
🧫 Caring responsibly for delicate laboratory equipment and glassware.
These practical lessons help our learners develop essential scientific skills while fostering curiosity, discipline, teamwork, and a deeper appreciation for Science.

What a day of netball! 💙
Our girls played with heart and showed glimpses of the beautiful, flowing netball that St Thomas is known for.
We are still building and finding our structure, with some exciting young 1st team players stepping up. There’s work to do and plenty of room to grow — and that’s the exciting part.
Unbeaten on the day with 2 wins and a draw against strong opposition says it all: this is a special group. The talent is there, the work ethic is there, and this team is destined for more.
So proud of every player who took the court. 🙌

St. Thomas Private School’s Grade 6 and Grade 7 learners recently enjoyed a meaningful and exciting camp experience at LekkerOord Christian Campsite.
The camp was aimed at developing learners’ teamwork, communication skills, and discipline. Over the course of the three days, learners participated in a range of well-structured group activities designed to encourage cooperation, mutual support, and self-discipline.
Highlights of the camp included a scenic walk to the beach, engaging team-building exercises, and a fun yet challenging obstacle course that required learners to work together to overcome various tasks. A vibrant dance competition brought energy and enthusiasm, promoting creativity, participation, and peer encouragement.
Through these shared experiences, learners built new friendships, strengthened existing relationships, and gained valuable life lessons in trust, responsibility, discipline, and effective communication.

It was a vibrant celebration of creativity, diversity, and expression, with learners captivating the audience through a variety of performances and displays. We are truly proud of each and every participant who contributed to making the day a memorable success.

Border Schools’ Rugby Day

Over the past weekend, the Border Schools’ Rugby Day was hosted by Dale College, with several schools participating in an exciting day of rugby.

St. Thomas Private School played against St. Christopher’s Private School, Kidds Beach, in a competitive and thrilling match. Our boys delivered a determined performance and emerged victorious with a 5–0 win.

The team proudly wore their new rugby jerseys generously sponsored by Pick n Pay, Qonce. We sincerely thank them for their continued support of sport at St. Thomas Private School.

Congratulations to the team and their coach for their hard work, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Well done! 🏉👏

The Managing Director of Pick n Pay, Qonce, Carel Terhoeven, accompanied by the Branch Manager Mario, officially presented the kits to the school.
It was truly a proud and joyful moment for the St. Thomas Private School community as we celebrated this meaningful partnership with our local Pick n Pay. The jerseys are vibrant, colourful, and beautifully designed — something our learners will wear with great pride on the sports field.
