EMANG MMOGO COMPREHENSIVE HIGH SCHOOL DEBATING SOCIETY 🏆

On 1 August 2026, our Debating Society proudly competed at the Northern Cape Schools Debating Association (NCDSA) tournament hosted by Northern Cape High School.

Our school entered five teams that took on some of the province’s strongest debating schools in a series of prepared and unprepared debates. Every round demanded critical thinking, confidence and teamwork, and our learners rose to the occasion with determination and excellence.

🏆 We are proud to announce that one of our Senior Teams emerged as champions, defeating Northern Cape High School in the final.

A special honourable mention goes to Azania Tawana, Bontle Malesela and Kudzai who stepped up when another school was unable to field a team. Without hesitation, they embraced the opportunity and competed with courage and professionalism.

50 years ago today, Soweto’s youth flooded the streets. They stood against Bantu Education and refused to learn through Afrikaans as the language of instruction.

Today, Emang Mmogo Comprehensive School, we commemorate and honour the brave young vanguards of 16 June 1976. ✊🏿

Over the weekend, the Debating Team from Emang Mmogo Comprehensive School proudly participated in the Founder’s Weekend Debate hosted by Kimberley Boys’ High School, where eight schools were invited to compete.

Although both our junior and senior teams narrowly missed victory by just one point, our learners represented the school with confidence, resilience, and excellence throughout the competition. We proudly congratulate Lindelwa Molose for being awarded Best Speaker in the Junior Division and Nosbet Mpofu for receiving the Best Speaker award in the Senior Division.
