🇿🇦 Happy Heritage Day, South Africa! 🇿🇦

Today we celebrate the rich cultures, traditions and stories that make our country so beautifully diverse. While our backgrounds may be different, we are united by the values, hopes and dreams that bring us together.

At Shangri-La Academy, we are proud to nurture a school community where every pupil is valued and where our diversity is celebrated as one of our greatest strengths.

“How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!”
Psalm 133:1

May we continue to honour where we come from while building a brighter future together.

From Grade 1 to Matric… what a journey!

Today was such a special and meaningful moment as our Matrics received their Final Exam Survival Kits from our Grade 1 pupils.

There is something incredibly special about receiving a gift from the very grade where your school journey began. Our Matrics were once those little Grade 1 pupils walking through these halls and now, years later, they stand at the final stage of their school journey, ready to take on the world.

What a milestone. What a journey. What a beautiful reminder of just how quickly the years go by.

To our Matrics, we are so incredibly proud of how far you have come. As you prepare to close this chapter, may you carry the memories, friendships and lessons of your school years with you into everything that lies ahead.

We wish you strength, confidence and every success as you tackle your final exams. Go out there and make your mark!

GRADE 10 JOURNEY OF SELF-DISCOVERY

More than a camp. More than an adventure. A journey of friendship, faith, courage and self-discovery.

They walked together. They laughed together. They grew together. And they made memories that will last a lifetime.

Here’s a glimpse into their incredible journey…

GRADE 10 JOURNEY OF SELF-DISCOVERY

What an incredible journey our Grade 10 pupils have shared!

This was so much more than a camp. It was a Journey of Self-Discovery. Walking alongside lions, leopards and rhinos, while also taking a journey within ourselves.

Along the way, our Grade 10s explored the importance of friendships, relationships with their teachers, and the special role their parents play in their lives. They reflected on where they have come from, the choices they have made, the challenges they have faced and the people who have helped shape who they are becoming.

And yes… there was plenty of FUN!

We walked together.
We laughed together.
We challenged one another.
We cried together.
We worshipped God together.

And somewhere along the way, we discovered a little more about who we are and who we can become.

There were moments of vulnerability, laughter and reflection, and memories that will stay with us for a very long time.

The greatest journeys aren’t always about the distance we travel. Sometimes, they are about the person we become along the way.

🦁 Be courageous.
🐆 Know your strength.
🦏 Stand firm in who you are.

To our Grade 10s: believe in yourselves, believe in your potential, and never be afraid to take the next step.

What a journey. What a group. What a privilege to walk this road with you.

Grade 10 Journey of Self-Discovery 2026.

We walked together. We grew together. We discovered together.
