Cismart Equestrian Academy is a therapeutic riding school situated in Southern Africa, Gauteng. At Cismart Equestrian Academy we specialize in horse therapy for disabled children and adults such as deafness, down syndrome, cerebral palsy and autism etc. - the list goes on. This therapy has the ability to give our riders the feeling of freedom and "normality". The incredible connection between horse and rider proves that this the therapy works, give fun and also build self esteem and confidence. We use well rounded horses, where safety as well as fun is our most important objective. This, as all other therapy is extremely costly to parents and caretakers. Unfortunately there are many potential riders, that due their background and finances, will never be able to experience this opportunity. Therefore we are working on a program (early 2014) to launch a new project called "adopt a rider". Our mission at Cismart Equestrian Academy is to give every possible disabled rider the opportunity to take part in this wonderful experience and to prove that being disabled shouldn't be hidden away, nor ignored.
