Laerskool Kreft Primary was established in 1947 and was named after Dr HHG Kreft a former director of education. Barnard was appointed as Laerskool Kreft’s first principal with 382 learners. The school started out with Standard (St). 2 ( Gr 4) to St. 8 (Gr 10) classes. In 1954 St. 9 (Gr 11) and St. 10 (Gr12) classes were added.
