WAYS TO MAKE YOUR LESSON INTERACTIVE AS A TEACHER
1. Start with an Icebreaker Question
Begin class with a fun or thought-provoking question related to the topic. It gets students talking immediately.
2. Use Real-Life Examples from Their Environment
Connect lessons to things they see daily (markets, football, social media, family life). It sparks interest.
3. Call Students by Name
Asking “Chidi, what do you think?” makes students feel noticed and more likely to respond.
4. Turn the Lesson into a Story
Narrate the topic in story form. Stories naturally invite curiosity and participation.
5. Ask for a Show of Hands or something like Quick Polls
Simple: “Who agrees? Who disagrees?” Instant classroom interaction without extra materials.
6. Move Around the Class
Walk among students while teaching. It keeps them alert and gives you a chance to ask questions directly.
7. Let Students Demonstrate
Instead of you always explaining, call a student to show how it’s done .
8. Use Call-and-Response
Short narration where the class responds in chorus.
9. Break the Lesson into Small Tasks
After teaching a point, pause and let students try a quick exercise before moving on.
10. Allow Students to Teach Back
Pair them up or form small groups where they explain the lesson to one another. Teaching others cements learning.

THE IMPORTANCE OF STARTING ON TIME TO PREPARE FOR EXAMINATION
Examinations are a key part of academic life, and preparing well for them is crucial for success. One of the most effective ways to perform well is to start preparation on time. Unfortunately, many students delay studying until the last minute, which often leads to stress, anxiety, and poor results.
✅Better Understanding of Topics:
When students begin studying early, they have enough time to understand the topics deeply. They can go over lessons more than once, ask questions in class, and seek help on difficult subjects without feeling rushed.
✅Reduces Stress and Anxiety:
Early preparation helps students avoid last-minute cramming. It gives them confidence and peace of mind, knowing they have covered the syllabus gradually and thoroughly. This reduces exam-related stress and helps them stay focused.
✅Improves Retention and Recall:
The brain retains information better when it is learned over time. Starting early allows for spaced repetition, a technique that improves long-term memory. Students can review what they’ve learned at regular intervals, making it easier to recall during exams.
✅Allows for Practice and Revision:
Exams are not just about reading but also about practicing. Starting on time gives students the opportunity to solve past questions, take mock tests, and revise effectively. This builds exam confidence and improves performance.
✅Promotes Discipline and Time Management:
Early preparation helps students develop a disciplined study routine and manage their time wisely. It teaches them the value of planning and commitment .
✅Starting exam preparation on time is a smart and necessary step toward academic success. It leads to better understanding, less stress, and improved performance. Students should be encouraged to plan their study schedule early and stay consistent in their efforts.

THINGS TEACHERS SHOULD NEVER SAY TO STUDENTS EVEN WHEN ANGRY
✅You are stv.pid: Labels damage self-worth and kill motivation.
✅You will never amount to anything: This crushes dreams and becomes a negative prophecy.
✅Why can’t you be like your classmates :Comparisons breed resentment and low self-esteem.
✅ I don’t care about you: Makes students feel unwanted and disengaged.
✅ You are a failure: Fails to separate behavior/performance from identity.
✅I hate teaching this class: Creates hostility and discouragement.
✅ You are always the problem: Generalizations ignore improvement efforts.
✅You’ll never understand this subject: Builds fear instead of resilience.
✅ Keep quiet, your opinion doesn’t matter: Silences confidence and participation.
✅ I regret having you in my class.:One of the deepest wounds a teacher can inflict.

TYPES OF COLLEAGUES YOU SHOULD DISTANCE FROM AS A TEACHER
1. The Chronic Complainers
They complain about management, students, workload, everything and never look for solutions. Their negativity drains your passion.
2. The Unprepared Teachers
They walk into class clueless and expect things to “just work.” Their habits can influence you if you’re not careful.
3. The Gossip Partners
They spend more time discussing people than discussing progress. Associating with them can damage your reputation.
4. The Lazy Staff
They do the bare minimum, avoid responsibilities and discourage others from putting in effort.
5. The Rule-Breakers
They undermine school policies, encourage shortcuts and create a culture of indiscipline.
6. The Overly Competitive Colleagues
Instead of collaborating they see you as competition and secretly hope you fail.
7. The Toxic Seniors
They believe experience equals superiority and talk down on younger teachers instead of guiding them.
8. The Negative Influencers
They always see the worst in students, parents and the system. Their mindset can make you bitter.
9. The “Nothing-Works-Here” Crowd
They discourage new ideas and kill innovation before it even starts.
10. The Professional Pretenders
They act serious in front of management but careless behind closed doors. Their inconsistency can trap you.
